WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks, Betting Picks (7/5/22): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel, Best Bets

WNBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball stock

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks and betting picks for 7/5/22. Expert WNBA DFS advice for DraftKings and FanDuel and today's best bets.

Hey y'all. Been a few days since we've been here with some WNBA DFS picks, but I'm back, and I've got some thoughts ahead of the two-game slate on Tuesday night. The Storm take on the Fever, while the Sun face the Wings.

I'll be providing daily fantasy lineup picks for the WNBA this season here at RotoBaller. In addition, I'll be sprinkling in some basic betting picks. Not going to get complicated since there's limited space in this piece, but I'll throw you a bet or two each day that I like and, because I think this is important, that I'll be making myself.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/5/22. These lineup picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slates locks on 7/5/2022 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Breanna Stewart  - Seattle Storm - @ IND - DraftKings ($12,000), FanDuel ($8,400)

Here's the play of the slate. Yes, Stewie is expensive. But I'll pay up for an elite offensive player against the Fever.

Indian allows 88.1 points per game to opposing teams, the most in the league. Second place is the Sparks, who allow 85.0.

Stewart had 20 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four steals less than a week ago against this Fever team. I have no reason to think she won't post similar numbers on Tuesday night.

Alyssa Thomas - Connecticut Sun - @ DAL - DraftKings ($10,300), FanDuel ($7,100)

Alyssa Thomas is averaging 10.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game against Dallas this year. The points aren't great when compared to what she's done against other teams, as she's shooting just 36.8% against Dallas. But she's filled the stat sheet up in multiple other ways against the Wings team.

The Wings defense also might not be as good now as it was when these teams last faced. They've allowed over 90 points in the last two games, including allowing 97 points to a Sparks team that should definitely not be scoring 97 points. If she can fill the stat sheet up while also seeing easier looks from the floor, then the sky's the limit for Thomas.

Emily Engstler - Indiana Fever - vs SEA - DraftKings ($6,200), FanDuel ($5,000)

Queen Egbo is out for health and safety protocols, which should open up more minutes for Engstler. In her four games as a starter, she's averaging 9.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. In the one game where she saw 30-plus minutes, she had 11 points and 13 rebounds. An increase in playing time for Engstler in this game should be good for her production and makes her an intriguing value play.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Arike Ogunbowale - Dallas Wings - vs CON - DraftKings ($10,900), FanDuel ($8,200)

Not my favorite play, but this isn't a great guard slate, so I'll take the upside of Arike, even if she's the most expensive guard. She's scored 20-plus points in three of the last four games, and she topped 40 fantasy points in two of those games. She shot 8-for-16 from the floor last time out.

My concern is that the Sun have held her to 35.3% shooting this season, with Ogunbowale averaging 16.0 points in two games against them. That's her third-worst average against a team this season. But again...tough guard slate, so I'll go with Arike's scoring upside and hope she can find something against Connecticut.

Natisha Hiedeman - Connecticut Sun - @ DAL - DraftKings ($6,800), FanDuel ($7,600)

Playing Hiedeman in fantasy is basically a roller coaster at this point. But because of positional issues with the Sun, she's guaranteed heavy minutes every night, like when she played all 40 minutes in the team's most recent game. She had 14 points and five assists in that one, plus two rebounds and five steals. With how bad the Wings defense has been over the last couple of games, I think there's some major upside to Hiedeman on Tuesday night.

Epiphanny Prince - Seattle Storm - @ IND - DraftKings ($3,500), FanDuel ($3,900)

There's the potential for some immense value here. Prince has basically done nothing all season, but then she played 19 minutes in Seattle's last game, scoring seven points to go along with two rebounds, four assists and three steals. It's unlikely she does that again, but isn't it worth taking a chance on her in a game against the Fever? Indiana has the worst scoring defense in the league.

WNBA Betting Picks for 7/5/2022

Looking to make some WNBA bets? Let's look at some options for you.

Yesterday's Results: 2-0

Sun Spread (-5.5)

Dallas has struggled lately, losing three in a row. The closest loss was by eight points to the Sparks. Connecticut is one of the three best teams in the W and beat Dallas 99-68 the last time these teams played. Easy pick here for me.

Seattle Storm Spread (-10.5)

The Fever were looking kind of feisty for a little bit, but this team is what we thought it would be: a fun team full of young players, which means it's going to be blown out sometimes. The Fever scored just 57 points on Friday against Seattle, losing by 16. They should have lost by more against this Seattle team. I have no confidence in Indiana keeping this in single digits.
