WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (8/8/19): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 8/8/19. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

After two days in a row of single-game slates, we're back today to cover Thursday's three game one. The Fever visit the Mystics in the early evening game, and then we get two late games as the Wings play in Seattle and the Mercury visit the Sparks.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/8/19. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

WNBA - DFS Guards

Leilani Mitchell (G, Phoenix Mercury) – @ Los Angeles Sparks (DK: $9,000, FD: $6,900)

Mitchell has been on a tear lately. Here are here last three games: @ WAS (28 points, eight assists, three rebounds), @ CON (13 points, four steals, two blocks, three assists, five rebounds), and vs. WAS (23 points, three steals, six assists, three rebounds).

Because of injuries all over this roster, the Mercury have no choice but to give Mitchell some serious run. She's played at least 35 of 40 possible minutes in each of the last three games and her long-range shooting has become a focal point of what the Mercury are doing.

Speaking of long-range shooting, the Los Angeles Sparks allow the third-highest three-point field goal percentage this season. That's been improving lately, but I still see Mitchell having a strong one.

Tiffany Mitchell (G, Indiana Fever) – @ Washington Mystics (DK: $6,600, FD: $4,500)

Mitchell's a very hot/cold option, but if you're looking for a player on the cheaper end of things, looking her way isn't a bad idea.

She's coming off a 17-point outing against the Lynx and has scored at least 14 points in three of her last five games. Against a Mystics team that's allowing the third-most points in the WNBA over the last five games, there's a good chance that Mitchell goes off in this one for another double-digit point night.

The downside is that when she's off, it's not good. Two games ago against Atlanta, she scored two points and added a rebound and an assist. You're taking the risk that something like that happens again, but I'm fine with that risk when she presents good upside against a defense that's been struggling.

WNBA - DFS Forwards

Elena Delle Donne (F, Washington Mystics) – vs Indiana Fever (DK: $10,700, FD: $8,400)

I have not been talking enough about Elena Delle Donne on this site, which in large part is because there was always a player or two I liked better each night at the forward position. But I'm all in on Delle Donne against the Fever on Thursday.

Indiana has allowed the third-most points per game this season. They've also allowed the fourth-highest three-point field goal percentage. Delle Donne only has the fourth-highest DraftKings cost on the night as well, which can give you a little extra value. She had 28 points and 15 rebounds against this team back in July, and while reaching those heights seems like it'd be tough, she should still be in line for a strong performance.

Teaira McCowan (F, Indiana Fever) – @ Washington Mystics (DK: $7,700, FD: $6,500)

Over the last five games, no team allows more points in the paint than the Mystics, and the paint is where Indiana's rookie center thrives. McCowan hasn't been a high usage or high efficiency offensive player yet, but she can score around 55 percent of the time on her restricted area looks, a number that should theoretically rise against a Mystics team that won't be able to do much to push her around up front. McCowan also has at least eight rebounds in four straight games. She played just 14 minutes the last time she faced this team, but expect an uptick in that and in production tonight.
