WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (8/20/19): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 8/20/19. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

The WNBA season is approaching the home stretch. The Atlanta Dream are the first team eliminated from the postseason, while teams at the top have started punching their tickets to the playoffs. Barring disaster and a huge run by Dallas, we know the eight teams who'll be in the playoffs this year, but the next few weeks will determine a lot in terms of seeding.

Anyway, we have four games tonight. In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/20/19. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

WNBA - DFS Guards

Diamond DeShields (G, Chicago Sky) – @ Atlanta Dream (DK: $9,600, FD: $7,100)

DeShields is going off at a slight discount over teammate Courtney Vandersloot, but both have plus matchups in this one. Atlanta's been the league's worst team this year despite some lofty aspirations. DeShields already has a 12 and a 22-point game against the Dream, and she's averaging 10 rebounds and five assists against them. She managed to shoot 13 free throws in the first meeting as well, and Atlanta is fourth in the league in fouls per game over the past five games. They've also got the fourth-worst scoring defense in the league this season. DeShields should put up strong numbers.

Kia Nurse (G, New York Liberty) – @ Indiana Fever (DK: $7,000, FD: $5,300)

Nurse has struggled lately, but she's currently priced below teammate Brittany Boyd on FanDuel even though Boyd played just seven minutes against Phoenix. Nurse is still the second scoring option in New York behind Tina Charles, and she's scored in double figures in two of the last three games. The last times Nurse faced Indiana were in back-to-back meetings to open New York's season, but she averaged 13 points in those two games. Nurse should bounce back and finished second on the team in scoring in this one, and with injuries in New York she's also seen a slight bump in assists lately as well.

WNBA - DFS Forwards

Tina Charles (F, New York Liberty) – @ Indiana Fever (DK: $9,900, FD: $7,500)

I had a chance on Friday to talk to Liberty head coach Katie Smith, who mentioned playing a stretch four more to open up space inside for Tina Charles. Well, on Sunday Rebecca Allen started at the four and Charles had herself a game, putting up 23 points and 13 rebounds. If the Liberty go with that move again, I expect to see another strong outing from Charles, who has really rediscovered something in her shot lately and has led to her scoring 20 or more points in five of the past six games.

Jessica Breland (F, Atlanta Dream) – vs Chicago Sky (DK: $8,600, FD: $7,300)

Breland has been on a tear lately...until she faced the Mercury and was held to four points. She still had nine rebounds in that one, though, and Breland had scored in double figures in the four games before that one. When Breland last faced the Sky, she had 18 points and seven rebounds. The time before that, she had 10 points and 11 rebounds. I like this matchup. I like how Breland's been playing. Should be another successful outing for her.
