Will the Broncos Trade Jerry Jeudy to the Patriots? Fantasy Football Outlook

Jerry Jeudy - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, Draft Sleepers

Is Jerry Jeudy going to be traded this offseason? Could the Patriots trade for Jeudy? Is Sean Payton going to utilize Jeudy? Read the 2023 NFL fantasy outlook.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has been floating around in trade rumors for two seasons now. The 23-year-old will be entering his fourth NFL season in 2023. Jeudy is coming off of the strongest campaign of his career, grabbing 67 passes for 972 yards and six touchdowns in what was a wildly inefficient Denver offense under Nathaniel Hackett. With Sean Payton at the helm, Denver is bound to take a step forward.

The Alabama product started to heat up at the end of the season, drawing 8+ targets in four straight matchups and going over 100 yards twice in a three-game stretch. Jeudy also had a three-touchdown game in a Week 14 matchup with Kansas City, showing flashes that made him a first-round pick in 2020.

But will Jeudy be on the roster in 2023? Trade rumors centered around him and fellow receiver Courtland Sutton have been floating around.

Is Jerry Jeudy A Good Fit For The Patriots?

Trading Jeudy could net a strong return for the Broncos given that he is still 23 years old and has yet to hit his prime. Reportedly, the New England Patriots are a team to watch as rumors float around the receiver.

Mary Kay Cabot stated that the Broncos “supposedly at least pondered an offer” from New England that reportedly included a second and fourth-round pick. If this report is true, it would be interesting to see if New England ups the offer to acquire Jeudy.

While the Patriots did sign JuJu Smith-Schuster this offseason to shore up the receiver position, they lost Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor in free agency. Smith-Schuster is at the top of a depth chart that also includes DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, and Tyquan Thornton. Hunter Henry and newly-signed Mike Gesicki will also compete for targets. =

While New England does have a solid and fairly deep group of pass catchers, they lack a go-to guy. Jeudy would be that guy for them if they were able to pull off a deal.

Will Jerry Jeudy Be Traded?

If Jeudy were truly on the market, we would likely hear more traction around him given that he is still so young and on a rookie contract. New Broncos head coach Sean Payton seemed to dismiss the rumors of Jeudy-to-New England, stating “I see and read just like everyone else… but we’re not trading those two players.”

Everyone is hungry for roster moves, and sometimes rumors end up being a whole lot of smoke rather than an actual fire. It seems unlikely that Jeudy will be moved this offseason, which is better for his fantasy value being in a Denver offense with a proven quarterback and less depth at the receiver position than there is in New England.
