Will Nick Foles Retire This Offseason? Fantasy Football Outlook

Will Nick Foles Retire in the 2023 Offseason? How did Foles during his career and in 2022? Read the 2023 NFL offseason outlook.

NFL quarterback Nick Foles has had stops with the Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, and most recently, the Indianapolis Colts.

His career has been a roller coaster with peaks and valleys, but ultimately, he's been a success story after being selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Now, the future of his playing career is uncertain.

How has Foles played during his 11-year career and will he retire this offseason? Let's get into it.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Nick Foles Career Review

Foles played sparingly as a rookie sharing a quarterback room with Michael Vick but flashed excellence in his 2013 sophomore campaign. The Arizona alum threw for 2,891 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He tied the NFL record for touchdown passes in a game (7) and broke the NFL record for touchdown to interception ratio in a single season before Tom Brady broke in a few years later.

After a down season in Philadelphia and St. Louis, he rejoined the Eagles and led them to a Super Bowl 52 victory over the New England Patriots. His career has been mediocre since, but he became a legend in Philadelphia sports after the improbable run to a title.

Overall, Foles has thrown for 14,227 yards, 82 touchdowns, and 42 interceptions in 58 starts -- posting a 29-29 record.

Will Nick Foles Retire this Offseason?

Foles was released by the Indianapolis Colts on Friday, but the signal-caller didn't seem too upset about it. "It's OK. The coach that I was there for, Frank Reich, was fired," stated Foles during a church event in California. "Shoot, almost every year of my career I've almost retired. Every offseason, I think, 'Do I still want to play?' Specifically, this last year with everything."

The 34-year-old's best days are likely behind him, so he probably won't have much fantasy value this season, even if he ends up starting somewhere. For now, it seems like he's leaning toward retiring. His career earnings are $86 million and his time as a starter has come to an end.
