The calendar is close to turning to August, and college football fans can already smell the start of the new campaign. College football has seen dramatic changes over the last few years, including the ramping up of the transfer portal, NIL, and the transition to a 12-team College Football Playoff.
With 12 teams playing for the grand prize at the end of the year, the regular season will feel much different. An early season loss is no longer a death sentence to a program's hopes of bringing home a "natty."
