Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:
Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh stated that running back Kimani Vidal has played like a No. 1 back this season. Harbaugh stated that "the proof is in the pudding" and "it warms the cockles of the heart."
After the injury to Omarion Hampton (ankle) that knocked him out for the past eight weeks, Vidal has stepped up and anchored the Chargers' rushing attack. Since Week 6, Vidal ranks 11th in the NFL in rushing yards and rushing attempts, and has averaged 13.5 PPR points per game.
He was a huge part of why they were able to defeat the Raiders in Week 13, totaling 137 yards and a touchdown on 26 total attempts. With Hampton set to return in Week 14 when the Chargers host the Philadelphia Eagles, Vidal will still be a part of the rotation, but will lose the majority of his fantasy value with the rookie back.
Tyler Allgeier, RB, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier has been a headache all season long for fantasy managers. Allgeier is the backup to Bijan Robinson, but he continues to vulture touchdowns in goal-line situations.
For example, Allgeier rushed eight times for 20 yards and a touchdown during last week's loss to the New York Jets. His touchdown plunge came from just one yard out after Robinson was held to no gain on the play before. This has been a theme all season long, as Allgeier has eight rushing touchdowns, but only 344 yards on the ground.
That being said, Allgeier will remain a touchdown-dependent option ahead of the team's Week 14 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. It's a tough matchup for Allgeier against an elite Seahawks run defense (they allow the second-fewest rushing yards per game), so fantasy managers in 12-team formats should be able to find someone that isn't so reliant on TDs.
Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice. He has now been limited on back-to-back days.
The 24-year-old is coming off a breakout game on Thanksgiving in which he caught six of seven targets for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Wicks isn't alone on the injury report, as fellow wide receivers Matthew Golden (wrist), Jayden Reed (foot, shoulder), and Savion Williams (foot) are all banged-up, too.
He can be benched in leagues with 14 or fewer teams ahead of Week 14 against the Chicago Bears, despite Chicago allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers in 2025.
Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs (hip, knee) was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday after he was held out on Wednesday with hip and knee injuries. It looks like Downs will be able to play in a crucial divisional game this weekend on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he's become very hard to trust in weekly fantasy football lineups.
The 24-year-old former third-rounder in 2023 out of North Carolina has seen a healthy 12 targets the last two games, but he has turned that into only four receptions for 54 yards and no touchdowns while he continues to see fellow wideout Alec Pierce take on a bigger role in the passing attack.
Downs is still an integral part of Indy's offense, but he ranks just inside the top 50 receivers in half-PPR points this year on 40 catches, 370 yards, and three touchdowns. He hasn't done much outside of a three-week stretch from Oct. 12 through Nov. 2, where he caught all three of his TDs on the season.
Marquise Brown, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown scored his fifth receiving touchdown of the year in the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Thursday, but it came on only two catches (two targets) and 20 yards. It seems like ages ago when Hollywood had 10 catches on 16 targets for 99 yards back in the season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The 28-year-old pass-catcher had at least five targets in the first five games of the year when Rashee Rice was suspended -- Xavier Worthy also missed two games with a shoulder injury during that stretch. Since Week 5, Brown has not been targeted more than four times in a game as he's been phased out of KC's offense.
In the last seven games, he has 15 catches on 20 targets for 202 yards and four scores. In a part-time role for the Chiefs, we would recommend keeping Brown on your bench in deeper fantasy leagues against the Houston Texans and their top-ranked defense in Week 14 on Sunday Night Football.
