Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:
Evan Engram, TE, Broncos
Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram flashes vintage form in a 27-26 overtime win against the Washington Commanders. Engram led the team in targets with nine, catching six of those for 79 yards and no touchdowns. With a long 41-yard catch and run in overtime, Engram nearly matched his season high in yardage for a game with that catch alone. It will still be tough to trust Engram going forward despite his breakout game.
The Broncos are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders for a second time this season in Week 14. Engram caught two passes for 12 yards in the previous game against Las Vegas in Week 10. Despite Engram's solid performance on Sunday night, Engram is difficult to trust and is mainly an option in deep leagues in a division rematch vs. the Raiders.
Colby Parkinson, TE, Rams
Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson's three-game touchdown streak came to an end in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Carolina Panthers, but he's held steady as the team's top tight end over the past few weeks with Tyler Higbee (ankle) on Injured Reserve. Parkinson still tied for second on the team with receiver Davante Adams in targets during Sunday's game, recording four receptions for 27 yards on five targets.
The 26-year-old trails only the Rams' big three of Puka Nacua, Adams, and Kyren Williams in snap share (61.3%) since Week 9 and has been productive in that time, totaling 16 receptions (18 targets) for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Parkinson is a touchdown-dependent fantasy option, but he's been a quality streamer in a potent Rams passing attack. He's a worthwhile waiver-wire addition ahead of Week 14's matchup against the division-rival Arizona Cardinals.
Darren Waller, TE, Dolphins
Miami Dolphins veteran tight end Darren Waller made his return in Week 13, hauling in two of three targets for 47 yards in the 21-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Waller came back in Week 13, after suffering a pectoral injury in Week 7 that forced him to the injured reserve. The former Raiders' star was limited to just 47% of the snaps in his return, while backups Julian Hill played 58%, and Greg Dulcich played 37%.
Waller faces a New York Jets defense in Week 14, which has allowed the third-most touchdowns to tight ends this season, with seven scores against them. Waller should see an expanded workload in Week 14, and is a low-end TE1 that could be relied on with injuries and bye weeks affecting other tight ends across the league.
Gunnar Helm, TE, Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie tight end Gunnar Helm led the team in targets for a second straight game in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. While his six catches on seven targets totaled only 23 yards, he has recently become a primary option in a Titans' passing game with no clear Alpha. His 12 receptions over the past two weeks trail only Trey McBride at the tight end position and are second only to Ashton Jeanty amongst all rookies.
With favorable matchups in two out of three fantasy playoff games, Helm is a readily available waiver option that can be used as part of a streaming committee down the stretch, particularly in full-PPR leagues.
Tyler Warren, TE, Colts
Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren caught three of his four targets for 22 yards and a touchdown in a 20-16 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 13. Warren popped up on the injury report with an illness over the weekend, prompting the Colts to list him as questionable for the contest. He ultimately was able to play through the illness and hauled in a 12-yard touchdown to tie the game at 13-13 in the third quarter.
Warren has been impressive in his rookie season, catching 58 passes for 684 yards and scoring six all-purpose touchdowns in 12 games. He will be a solid TE1 in Week 14's road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
