Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13:
D'Andre Swift, RB, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift had his worst game of the 2025 season in Week 12, handling just eight carries for 15 yards. Swift's role plummeted last week, as a costly fumble cut his snaps and his role against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Swift dropped from a consistent 60%+ snap player to playing under 43% of the snaps, trailing rookie running back Kyle Monangai, who played 57%. This week will be telling to see if Swift loses or returns to his normal starting role in Week 13.
The Bears face the Philadelphia Eagles, who have regressed from the league's best run defense in 2024 to a middle-of-the-pack defense in 2025. However, with Monangai continuing to carve a role, Swift is more of a FLEX play in Week 13, rather than a locked-in starter.
Kyle Monangai, RB, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai out-snapped D'Andre Swift 34 to 26 in Week 12's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Monangai finished with 12 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown in the game, while Swift had eight carries for 15 yards with one reception (one target) for 14 yards.
That decision was impacted by Swift losing a fumble, but it could lead to more opportunities for Monangai in future weeks. It was the first game all season where the rookie seventh-rounder played more snaps than Swift, with both players active.
Monangai seemingly has the upper hand in goal-line work as well, recording a team-high five carries inside the 10-yard line over the past three weeks and finding the end zone in three straight games. He carries FLEX value with solid touchdown upside for Black Friday's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown caught his fourth touchdown of the season and his first in three weeks last Sunday against the Cowboys, while also setting a season high for receptions (eight) and eclipsing 100 yards for the third time this year.
Brown has racked up 21 targets over his last two outings, and could be in for another big day this week with DeVonta Smith (shoulder/chest/illness) possibly being sidelined. Even if his fellow star receiver is out there, Brown looked like the WR1 he's expected to be versus Dallas and should continue this momentum.
He'll face the Bears on Friday, whose defense allows the 11th-most fantasy points to WRs this season. This may be the start of a late-season surge for Brown, and he should be considered a mid-level WR2 in Week 13.
Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley (groin) was limited at practice on Wednesday. Barkley had his worst performance on the ground so far this season last week in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys, finishing with 22 yards on 10 attempts.
Luckily for fantasy managers, he was able to find success in the passing game by catching seven balls for 52 yards, further proving how he can be efficient in more ways than one. Barkley shouldn't have the same run struggles on Friday as he faces a lackluster Bears defense allowing 138.1 rushing yards per game this year. Philly's offense fell stagnant in the second half against Dallas and is unlikely to do the same in what will be a hotly contested battle atop the NFC.
Expect Barkley to get back to around 20 carries and be far more productive running the ball this week, and probably get a decent amount of targets through the air as well. His injury on a short week is something to keep an eye on, but if he's good to go he's a solid RB1.
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) was listed as a non-participant in Thursday's practice, according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN. Kamara missed practice for the second consecutive day and is trending toward missing his first game of the season in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins.
The 30-year-old suffered a knee sprain during New Orleans' Week 12 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and is expected to miss some time. He'll have one more opportunity to practice on Friday, but in all likelihood, it will be rookie Devin Neal leading the backfield on Sunday in Miami.
Neal handled seven carries for 18 yards along with five catches (seven targets) for 43 yards in Kamara's absence last week, and offers RB2 value in Week 13 assuming Kamara is out.
