When Will Tua Tagovailoa Return and Be Back? Fantasy Football Injury Update for Week 6 (2024)

Tua Tagovailoa - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

When will Tua Tagovailoa return and play? Will Tua Tagovailoa be back again this season? Read the latest Tua Tagovailoa injury updates and return date for Week 6 (2024).

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa began the season with a strong Week 1 performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He racked up 338 yards and a touchdown, highlighted by his deep connection to Tyreek Hill.

However, Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2, which was a scary sight to see due to his previous history of concussions. He would miss the last three weeks before being placed on injured reserve.

When will Tua Tagovailoa return to action, and what is his fantasy football outlook when he does? Let's dive in.

Tua Tagovailoa Injury Update

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel revealed that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is scheduled to consult with a head injury specialist during the team’s Week 6 bye.

Last week, it was reported that Tagovailoa has been symptom-free since suffering a severe concussion in the Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills which is a step in the right direction, but the quarterback will still be sidelined for some time.

Despite this progress, the 26-year-old was placed on Injured Reserve and currently has no set timetable for his return. While Tagovailoa will be eligible to come off IR for Week 8, expecting him to be ready by then would be optimistic.

Fantasy managers will need to keep an eye on his latest injury report after the bye week.

Tua Tagovailoa Fantasy Football Outlook

Despite Tagovailoa being placed on injured reserve, the positive news is that there’s a chance he could play again this season, which initially seemed doubtful after his injury.

Tagovailoa will be eligible to come off the IR in Week 8, and if the quarterback is able to play, this would be tremendous for fantasy managers. If the quarterback is able to return, wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle would instantly regain their fantasy values, and Tagovailoa will once again become a QB1 option.

In the meantime, Tyler Huntley is expected to start again in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Tagovailoa remains worth stashing as a QB2 in single-season fantasy leagues until more clarity on his return emerges.
