The Miami Marlins made moves across their offense and pitching staff before the trade deadline to reset their potential timeline toward contention.
The Arizona Diamondbacks traded 21-year-old Deyvison De Los Santos to the Marlins and he now has a potential path to playing time. Veterans Jazz Chisholm, Bryan De La Cruz, and Josh Bell are gone which leaves holes for recent acquisitions like De Los Santos to fill.

De Los Santos has 15 HR in 51 games throughout Triple-A this season. A 125 wRC+ is very good for De Los Santos at this level given his age and he is only striking out at a 22.9% rate. While his walk rate is a meager 5.2%, De Los Santos can be an above-average MLB bat thanks to his power.
He hit 14 HR in 38 Double-A games this season in ballparks typically tougher than Triple-A. He may struggle upon entering the league but with production like this, he deserves a fair shot with everyday playing time.
Deyvison De Los Santos Fantasy Baseball Outlook
The Marlins are desperate for exciting bats as they will trade the couple they have in-house yearly. De Los Santos projects to show big power, a solid average, and plenty of RBI in his prime (if he reaches it).
The ceiling comp is former Marlins prospect Marcell Ozuna who is now among the league's best bats with improved plate discipline. The median outcome is closer to a current Marlins DH like Jake Burger.
If his call to the Majors occurs this season, it is worth taking a flier despite the bad surrounding offense and poor home park for hitters. However, that would be unlikely until September when rosters expand given that Miami is seeking to retain as much service time as possible.
The likeliest scenario is De Los Santos making the roster early next season (potentially, Opening Day). In time, De Los Santos could be another of the league's perennial 30+ HR hitters who becomes a fantasy baseball staple.
