Week 6 Defense Outlooks for Fantasy Football

Houston Texans DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The struggling New England Patriots present a terrific opportunity for the Houston Texans' defense in Week 6. Only the Tua Tagovailoa-less Miami Dolphins have scored fewer points per game than New England, which is officially making a quarterback change this week.

Rookie quarterback Drake Maye will make his first start for the Patriots, who are on the short list for worst offensive line in the league. So far, New England ranks 31st in sacks allowed, 30th in completion percentage, 31st in passing first downs, 32nd in net yards per passing attempt, and tied for 31st in fumbles. Fantasy managers holding the Texans or within reach of them should be all over this matchup.

- Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBaller

Pittsburgh Steelers DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Pittsburgh Steelers came up short defensively in Week 5 but are in a great spot to bounce back against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. Second-year quarterback Aidan O'Connell is set to make his first start of the season for the Raiders after the team benched Gardner Minshew II last week.

O'Connell flashed some potential as a rookie but was largely inconsistent in his time as a starter. Although the Steelers will be missing a few key defensive starters, they should still manage to find success against a Las Vegas offense that averages the third-fewest rushing yards per contest and is without star wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring). Fire up Pittsburgh's DST as a top option in all fantasy formats on Sunday.

- Jorden Hill - RotoBaller

Denver Broncos DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

Although the Los Angeles Chargers haven't been kind to opposing defense/special teams units this year -- D/ST units have scored an average of 3.3 fantasy points in four games against them -- the Denver Broncos defense/special teams is riding high and should be considered a top-10 fantasy option in Week 6 at home.

Denver's D currently ranks fifth in overall fantasy points, second in points allowed per game (14.6), fifth in passing yards allowed per game (159.8), 10th in rushing yards allowed per game (111.4) and third in total yards allowed per game (271.2). They'll be facing a Chargers offense that has scored only 17 points per game in four contests (fifth-fewest in the NFL) with a QB that has been playing through a nagging ankle sprain.

The Broncos are also tied for the seventh-most takeaways (eight), although the Chargers offense has taken care of the ball (tied for first with only two giveaways).
