Week 3 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2023 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

Brandon Aubrey - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups, Kickers, Streamers

Mike Fanelli breaks down all 2023 fantasy football Week 3 kickers - streamers, starts, sits, targets, avoids, and waiver wire pickups. Our Week 3 rankings and tiers for all of the NFL kickers.

Welcome back to our Week 3 Kicker Rankings, Streamers and Starts for fantasy football. Another week of the 2023 NFL season is in the books, so let’s see how last week’s streaming kickers performed for fantasy players.

Cameron Dicker was our top streaming kicker last week. He scored 10 fantasy points against the Tennessee Titans, making him the sixth-highest scoring kicker of the week heading into the doubleheader Monday Night Football matchups. Hopefully, fantasy players had Dicker on their team and got the Week 2 victory.

Now let’s look at the top fantasy football kicker rankings, streamers, and starts for Week 3. Good luck RotoBallers!

Streaming Kickers to Target in Week 3

All streamers in this article are rostered in under 60% of Yahoo leagues.

Brandon Aubrey (DAL) vs. Arizona Cardinals (7% Rostered)

The former USFL kicker has been lights out for fantasy players this season. After scoring 10 fantasy points in the Week 1 win over the New York Giants, Brandon Aubrey had 18 fantasy points on Sunday against the New York Jets. Furthermore, his 18 fantasy points were the most in Week 2 before the Monday Night Football doubleheader. The former Notre Dame kicker has made all seven field goal attempts this season, including a 55-yarder against the Jets.

Yet, Aubrey is rostered in under 10% of Yahoo leagues. This makes him an easy steal for fantasy players this week when the former USFL star faces the Cardinals. While the Dallas defense should have an impressive performance, don’t forget about the kicker. Arizona has surrendered 7.5 fantasy points per game to kickers this season. However, they have faced two sub-par defenses to start the year. That won’t be the case on Sunday. Aubrey is arguably the best kicking option in Week 3.

Brett Maher (LAR) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (2% Rostered)

While everyone is shocked at how well the Rams' offense has looked without Cooper Kupp, no one should be surprised at Brett Maher’s early season success. The veteran was one of the top kickers last year with the Cowboys, averaging 9.1 fantasy points per game after converting over 90% of his field goal attempts. More importantly, he’s been on fire this season, scoring 13 fantasy points in both contests. Maher missed two 50-plus yard field goals in Week 1 but didn’t miss a kick on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the veteran kicker has an excellent matchup in Week 3. The Bengals are 0-2 for the second consecutive year. More importantly, they have been fantasy-friendly to kickers this season. Cincinnati has surrendered 11 fantasy points per game to kickers in 2023. Dustin Hopkins made all three field goals in the Week 1 matchup against the Bengals. Last Week, Justin Tucker had 10 fantasy points despite an unusual miss from over 50 yards away.

Greg Joseph (MIN) vs. Los Angeles Chargers (14% Rostered)

Unfortunately, the Vikings have a 0-2 record, and Greg Joseph has struggled for fantasy players. The veteran kicker has scored only nine fantasy points this season, one of the lowest totals in the NFL. However, the lack of fantasy production isn’t his fault. Joseph hasn’t missed a kick this year after missing 21.2% of his field goals last season, a career-high. Instead, his poor fantasy production has been from a lack of opportunities.

The veteran kicker has attempted only one field goal this year, a 25-yarder in Week 1. Minnesota hasn’t needed their kicker much this season, but that could change on Sunday against the Chargers. Los Angeles has been a fantasy goldmine for kickers this season, giving up 12 fantasy points per game. Jason Sanders and Nick Folk have combined for five field goal attempts in the two games against the Chargers this season.

Streaming Kickers to Avoid in Week 3

Fantasy players should always stream the kicker position. However, it’s important to avoid picking up and starting a kicker that will be a bust. Let’s see which two kickers you shouldn’t pick up off the waiver wire this week.

Riley Patterson (DET) vs. Atlanta Falcons (48% Rostered)

While the Lions got an upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, Riley Patterson didn’t have a field goal attempt and scored only three fantasy points. Unfortunately, things weren’t better last week against the Seattle Seahawks. Despite Detroit scoring 31 points, the veteran kicker had only seven fantasy points. His only field goal attempt was from 38 yards away to force overtime.

Fantasy players shouldn’t count on Patterson to be any better in Week 3 against the Falcons. Atlanta has surrendered only 11 fantasy points this season, holding kickers to under seven points in both contests. Eddy Pineiro only got one field goal attempt and five fantasy points in Week 1 against the NFC South division rivals. Similarly, Anders Carlson had only one field goal attempt and six points last week against the Falcons.

Chase McLaughlin (TB) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (1% Rostered)

The Buccaneers are 2-0, just like everyone predicted. While Tampa Bay has been a surprise this season, Chase McLaughlin hasn’t been an elite fantasy kicker. The veteran has 18 fantasy points in 2023, scoring eight or more in both contests. However, McLaughlin had a blocked field goal in Week 2. While that production is solid, fantasy players better temper expectations, as he has an ugly matchup on Monday night.

Philadelphia was one of the worst teams to stream kickers against in 2022, surrendering only 6.7 fantasy points per game, the third-fewest in the NFL. Unfortunately, that trend has continued this season. The Eagles have given up only six fantasy points to kickers, surrendering four or fewer points in both matchups. Opposing kickers haven’t attempted a field goal against the reigning NFC Champions this year. That trend likely won’t change this week.
