Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups - Tight Ends (TEs)

RotoBaller Chris Lacey reviews 6 tight end options for your fantasy football teams. Some of these players may still be available on your waiver wires, and can be solid contributors for Week 13 and the playoff push:

Week 13 Waiver Wire - Tight Ends (TE)

Delanie Walker - TE, Tennessee Titans - 49% owned in Yahoo leagues

Walker had a good game with five receptions for 46 yards. He continues to have solid games each week and has 44 catches on the season, including 10.20 yards per reception with five TDs. He faces the  Indianapolis Colts this week and could have another great game with them giving up 243.5 pass yards per game. Consider Walker a high-upside TE1 in PPR leagues.

Rob Housler - TE, Arizona Cardinals - 15% owned in Yahoo leagues

Housler was solid with four catches for 51 yards in his last game. This was his third consecutive game with at least four catches and 50 receiving yards. He does only have one touchdown, but should change if he keeps being productive. He goes up against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that's horrible in pass defense, as they surrender 300.1 pass yards per game. This is the game where he might really breaks out as a legit TE1.

Ladarius Green - TE, San Diego Chargers - 6% owned in Yahoo leagues

Green was great with three catches for 80 yards and one TD last week. This is second straight game he's eclipsed 80 receiving yards. I know the San Diego Chargers have Antonio Gates, but Green is another option to have on your fantasy teams. However if you pick him up off the waiver wire, it would be smart move to sit him against the Bengals and see how he's utilized. They're also one of the better defensive teams in the NFL where they only allow 211.1 pass yards per game. Green is a high-upside stash going forward.

Tim Wright - TE / WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 18% owned in Yahoo leagues

Wright was spectacular in his most recent game as he had eight receptions for 75 yards. It was nice to see him bounce back after two consecutive bad games where he only caught two passes for 32 yards. I would be cautious in starting him against the Carolina Panthers, as they're only giving up 215.9 pass yards per game, and are one of the better defenses in the NFL. But Wright is a decent option, especially in PPR leagues, and has flexibility with the WR eligibility.

Heath Miller - TE, Pittsburgh Pirates - 46% owned in Yahoo leagues

Miller had a nice game with five catches for 41 yards. He's already had three games this season with at least six catches and more than 60 receiving yards. He only has one TD on the season, but is racking up a ton of receiving yards at 382 so far. He could have a challenge in his next game with the Baltimore Ravens 11th in the NFL giving up 226.4 pass yards per game, but is a decent lower-end TE option for PPR leagues where you're hurting at TE.

Jacob Tamme - TE, Denver Broncos - 4% owned in Yahoo leagues

Tamme played well filling in for the injured Julius Thomas with five catches for 47 yards and one touchdown. Thomas is expected to play in this week's game, but if not Tamme wouldn't be the worst option. He's caught eight passes for 74 yards with a 9.25 yards per reception to include one TD. If he does end up playing, he might get slowed down this week facing the Kansas City Chiefs with them allowing only 235 pass yards per game.
