Week 13 Quarterbacks: Waiver Wire Pickups, Sleepers, Streamers & Rankings

By Craigbezzle (Own work) [CC-BY-SA-3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Nathan Calderon analyzes Week 13 fantasy football quarterback (QB) sleepers, waiver wire pickups and adds. NFL quarterbacks are a key fantasy football component off the waiver wire.

Hey there once again RotoBallers, and welcome to QB prep for fantasy football for week thirteen. If you’re making that playoff push, or plan to continue to stream quarterbacks to fantasy glory, this is the right place. With bye weeks over and done with, there’s no room for any weakness in your lineup, so let’s get rolling.

If you need those extra few points this week, or need to stream some potential sleepers for your teams, or if you’re looking to find a guy to play for the rest of the season, you can look here for all of my picks at the quarterback position. This week, in addition to the normal content, I will also be dropping my Week 13 quarterback rankings. This should give you guys an idea of what I would do in a QB dilemma. Let’s get rolling RotoBallers.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Quarterback Streamers & Waiver Wire Options - Week 13

Kyle Orton – Buffalo Bills (Owned in 24% of leagues on Fleaflicker)

Week Thirteen Opponent: Cleveland Browns

BALLER MOVE: Orton proved his worth once again last week vs. the Jets. How is this guy less owned than he was in week twelve? Though his matchup against Cleveland is a tougher one, I still think that Orton is startable in all leagues this week.

ANALYSIS: Orton has been fantastic on the season, and he has been ridiculously consistent. Yes, last week he faced an extremely poor Jets secondary, but he has had impressive showings against other defenses that are similarly ranked to the pass defense that Cleveland presents. I shouldn’t have to do much more talking up of Kyle Orton. His performances, to me, speak for themselves. Don’t overthink the matchup here. He doesn’t throw many picks (three on the whole season), and he has multiple touchdowns in four of his seven games this year. Orton is worth a grab if you’re an owner looking for a consistent QB for playoff time. Top ten option here on in.

Drew Stanton – Arizona Cardinals (Owned in 14% of leagues on Fleaflicker)

Week Thirteen Opponent: Atlanta Falcons

BALLER MOVE: Coming off of a troublesome week against Seattle and LOB, I am willing to start Stanton in most leagues this week, especially deeper ones based on his matchup with Atlanta.

ANALYSIS: Most took the week twelve game against Seattle as a signto stay away from Drew Stanton. I still think that Stanton’s value is on the rise. Outside of week twelve, Stanton has had solid performances, including a 306 yard, two TD, two INT performance against a stout Detroit defense.

This matchup for Stanton is a great one, as the Falcons are ranked 31st in yards allowed to opposing quarterbacks. It is definitely tough to have faith in the young QB, especially in the playoffs. If you’re still streaming QB’s though, Stanton is definitely worth a look this week and is a near top fifteen guy in my book.

Teddy Bridgewater – Minnesota Vikings (Owned in 19% of leagues on Fleaflicker)

Week Thirteen Opponent: Carolina Panthers

BALLER MOVE: Another young QB to trust this week, the matchup here for Bridgewater isn’t one I can pass up. Could end up a very low end QB1 this week if you’re desperate, and I guy I would start in all two QB leagues.

ANALYSIS: I have been hesitant on playing Bridgewater. He was ranked way, way, way low for me in week twelve. He faced an improving Green Bay defense, and he's an inexperienced young guy with a matchup that he was destined to lose.

Now, I rescind a bit of my criticism of Bridgewater. Against Green Bay, Bridgewater put up a respectable yardage total at 210 yards and two touchdowns while only tossing one pick. He also rushed five times for 32 yards, bostering his value. He’s trended upward a bit in the last two weeks, and this week facing the 25th ranked passing defense in Carolina he should be able to continue that trend. In playoff time, I wouldn’t put all the faith in the world in the rookie. It’s hard to trust him, but if you’re desperate, Bridgewater has the matchup you for in a streaming scenario.
