Week 12 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2024 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

Chris Boswell - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Kacey Kasem examines all 2024 fantasy football Week 12 kickers - streamers, starts, sits, targets, avoids, and waiver wire pickups. Our Week 12 rankings and tiers for all of the NFL kickers.

Six teams are on bye this week, so several productive kickers will be unavailable for fantasy managers. Younghoe Koo, Tyler Bass, Evan McPherson, Cam Little, and Blake Grupe are all sidelined. Koo is currently the ninth-highest-scoring kicker this season, while Grupe sits at K12.

With trustworthy options out of your lineup, finding a replacement for Week 12 is necessary. Identifying the right kicker often comes down to targeting good matchups and those kickers on high-powered offenses.

I have put together my kicker rankings for Week 12 and recommendations on who to start and sit. These picks will help guide you in making the best decision for your lineup. Whether you need a short-term fill-in or a more steady option for the rest of the season, these rankings and suggestions can provide the clarity you need to find the right kicker for your squad.

* UPDATE: Austin Seibert (hip) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. If he returns from a two-game absence in Week 12, he has overall top kicker upside.

Kicker Streamers to Target for Week 12

Only players rostered in fewer than 60% of fantasy football leagues are considered streamers.

Jason Sanders (MIA) vs. New England Patriots
47.3% Rostered on Sleeper

Jason Sanders has been consistent for the Miami Dolphins. In their 34-19 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11, he made both of his field goal attempts, hitting from 31 and 46 yards. The veteran kicker also connected on all four of his extra-point attempts. This was the fourth straight game where Sanders was perfect on his kicks.

The New Mexico product has made 19-of-23 field goal attempts this season, hitting 82.6%. The 29-year-old has been perfect on all 16 of his extra-point attempts. His longest kick this year was a 56-yard field goal.

With quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back in the mix, the Dolphins offense has produced more scoring opportunities, and Sanders has taken full advantage.

This week, Sanders takes on the New England Patriots. The matchup gives him a good chance to keep his streak alive. He is an excellent waiver pickup if he is available in your league. Start him confidently, knowing he has been a steady contributor all season.

Chase McLaughlin (TB) at New York Giants
11.7% Rostered on Sleeper

A strong kicker to start this week is Chase McLaughlin of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is widely available in fantasy leagues, especially after his Week 11 bye, which may have led some managers to drop him for a temporary replacement.

If he is on waivers, he is worth a pickup. In Week 10, during the Buccaneers' 23-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, McLaughlin hit both his field goals from 30 and 26 yards while also connecting on both extra points.

The 28-year-old is currently sitting as K11 for the season. He has capitalized on his chances despite Tampa Bay dealing with injuries to key wide receivers Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Jalen McMillan. Notably, the kicker tied the game with the 49ers at 20-20 with just 41 seconds remaining, showing his reliability in clutch moments.

In Week 12, McLaughlin will battle the New York Giants. While his performances have fluctuated between double and single-digit scoring games, the Illinois alum has remained consistent overall. Managers can trust him to provide a steady floor, making him a solid option for this week's matchup.

Spencer Shrader (KC) at Carolina Panthers
14% Rostered on Sleeper

Spencer Shrader is a good option to start at kicker this week, even though he did not attempt a field goal in Week 11. Shrader plays for the Kansas City Chiefs and recently replaced Harrison Butker. Butker had surgery on his left knee and was placed on injured reserve.

Shrader made all three of his extra points in his first game with the Chiefs. He was signed off the New York Jets practice squad to take over for Butker.

The Notre Dame alum has a promising matchup in Week 12, taking on the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers give up the fifth-most fantasy points per game to kickers. They have surrendered 30 extra points, the third-most in the league, and 20 successful field goals this season. This game should give the 25-year-old plenty of chances to score.

Although Shrader has played for other teams this season, including the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets, his new role with the Chiefs makes him an attractive fantasy option. He is worth considering for your lineup this week.

Kickers to Avoid for Week 12

Jake Moody (SF) at Green Bay Packers
58.7% Rostered on Sleeper

A kicker to avoid this week is Jake Moody of the San Francisco 49ers. In Week 11, he made his only field goal attempt from 33 yards and successfully knocked in both extra points in the 49ers' 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Moody's opportunities have been limited recently due to the 49ers' offensive struggles. The team has had trouble moving the ball and getting into field goal range, leaving the second-year player with fewer chances to score points. Since returning from an ankle injury in Week 10, where he missed three field goals against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Moody has been inconsistent.

This week, the 49ers will face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, which presents additional challenges. The weather in Green Bay during late November is typically cold and unpredictable, and kicking outdoors in these conditions could be difficult. The Packers defense also ranks among the toughest for kickers, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game.

With the weather issues and the 49ers' offensive inconsistency, Moody is not an ideal option for your lineup this week. It is best to look for a different kicker with a more favorable situation.

Jake Elliott (PHI) at Los Angeles Rams
65.2% Rostered on Sleeper

Another kicker to avoid this week is Jake Elliott of the Philadelphia Eagles. Elliott floundered in the Eagles' 26-18 win over the Washington Commanders on Thursday, missing three kicks.

He went 2-for-4 on field goals and 2-for-3 on extra points, with misses from 44 and 51 yards. This performance included the Memphis product's first missed extra point of the season. Elliott averages 6.6 fantasy points per game, which is underwhelming for a starting kicker. His inconsistency has made him a risky play in recent weeks.

This week, the Eagles face the Los Angeles Rams. While head coach Nick Sirianni has expressed full confidence in Elliott on the Pat McAfee Show, the numbers tell a different story. The kicker's struggles this season and recent misses raise concerns about his reliability moving forward.

Given Elliott's shaky performances, looking elsewhere for a more consistent kicker is best. His risk outweighs his potential reward this week, especially with so many other options available.
