Week 10 Waiver Wire & QB Streamers: Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota & Kirk Cousins

Week 9 saw Tyrod Taylor deliver an acceptable performance. It wasn’t great, but I’ll take 15 points from a QB streamer any week. Meanwhile I should have expected it, but Kirk Cousins was disappointing. My options at 25% or less were Johnny Manziel, Blaine Gabbert and Matt Cassel. There was no chance I was starting Gabbert but he ended up having a respectable game. If you took a risk on him, congratulations! Meanwhile Jay Cutler has yet to play but I am expecting good things tomorrow.

For this article I will look at two QBs owned in 50% or less of Fleaflicker leagues and another QB owned in 25% or less to account for the QB scarcity in 2QB leagues. There are definitely some good QBs readily available if you need a stream this week!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Standard League QB Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 10

Jameis Winston (TB) vs Cowboys

OWNED IN: 38% of Fleaflicker leagues

I think Marcus Mariota has received more recognition for some big numbers and a big OT win in Week 9. However, Jameis Winston has been extremely impressive himself. He now has four straight games without a turnover while averaging 233 pass yards during that span. He also has four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns during that time. He isn’t really a mobile QB but he has no problems running when he needs to, as evidenced by his 3 rushing touchdowns on the season.

The Cowboys are a decent pass defense but they have just three interceptions on the season heading into their Sunday Night Football game. That is a big plus for Winston and his no turnover streak. Winston’s numbers this past week don’t impress too much - a 52.7% completion percentage with no passing touchdowns. The numbers don’t tell you that his receivers had several drops including a couple would-be big plays by Mike Evans. I think those things correct themselves and Winston has a good day here.

Marcus Mariota (TEN) vs Panthers

OWNED IN: 43% of Fleaflicker Leagues

This is a tough matchup, but in a week where a lot of other QBs with similar ownership percentages have even worse matchups (Tyrod in a short week vs Jets, Cutler vs Rams, Alex Smith vs Broncos), I think Mariota is the best of some bad choices this week. After two weeks out, Mariota had a monster day against the Saints. So monster that he became the first rookie to ever throw for 300 yards with four pass touchdowns and no interceptions.

This week he gets a much much tougher matchup vs the Saints. Sure, Aaron Rodgers had 32 points against them this past week but a lot of that was when Rodgers was playing from multiple touchdowns behind. When it mattered most, they picked him off in the end zone. Plus, it’s Aaron Rodgers, one of the very best in the game! So Mariota will have a much tougher time here. He’s shown enough that he is better than other readily available options.

Deeper League QB Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 10

Kirk Cousins (WAS) vs Saints

OWNED IN: 20% of Fleaflicker Leagues

Cousins struggled vs the Patriots in Week 9 after I selected him as my deeper league QB. However I simply can’t avoid recommending Cousins in Week 10 vs the Saints. The Saints defense has reached truly pathetic levels. Over the past three weeks they have allowed at least 300 passing yards and three passing touchdowns in each game. No matter what you think about Kirk Cousins, I think you’ll agree he has a good shot to have a good fantasy day. Desean Jackson returned in Week 9 but didn’t do too much. The Patriots also managed to shut down Jordan Reed outside of a last minute garbage time touchdown. I expect these two to play much better in Week 10 and aid a good performance by Cousins.
