Curing Your Week 10 Fantasy Football Blues

Are you one of those people whose fantasy football team is sporting a lackluster record through the first 10 weeks of the 2013 NFL season?  Have you just about given up hope on this year because your key players have experienced flukey injuries or general underperformance?  Well, if you are a Julio Jones, Doug Wilson or Aaron Rodgers owner (just to mention a few injury disappointments), or just haven't had the best luck so far this year, we have the perfect remedy for your fantasy football blues!

Weekly Fantasy Football Leagues

Aaron Rodgers's injury is a serious blow to seasonal-league fantasy owners.

Some of you may already know about weekly league fantasy football games played most famously on sites like Fanduel.  This weekly format of fantasy football is just what the doctor ordered at this time of the season when some owners’ squads are just not cutting it and they are all but out of contention in their seasonal league formats.  Even if you play in a keeper league, you might only have trades to look forward to, and you're missing out on the pure desire to battle week-in and week-out with another fantasy football lover in a head-to-head competition!

Into this landscape comes Fanduel, and all other formats of weekly salary cap league fantasy football.  You get to draft/choose your team fresh each and every week out of every player in the healthy pool under a salary cap system.  Every available NFL player is assigned a dollar value (that can fluctuate from week to week), and you will be required to fill a roster with one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, one team defense and a kicker.  Most leagues will restrict you to a $65,000 salary cap, so you will have to mix and match your stars and scrubs wisely in order to maximize your team's potential.

For those of you who have never gotten a taste of this extraordinarily fun style of fantasy football action, we highly recommend that you sign up for a free Fanduel account today and play around for no money at first.  It won’t take you long to understand the way things work on there, and once you do, we are almost 100% sure you will find the action as thrilling as we do.  RotoBaller's in-house daily league staff guru, Real Talk Raph, has already written a bunch of articles that provide some high-end analysis and context regarding the strategic approaches that we recommend to help make you a winner right out of the gate in weekly salary-cap league play.  Take a look at these Fanduel salary-cap league strategy articles, and also browse through some of the other weekly league articles submitted by RotoBaller writers.

Looking For An Edge?

We also offer a very valuable subscription service to those of you who are looking for that extra edge in deciding which players to pick before you set your Fanduel lineup every Sunday.  Our subscription newsletter "Rotoballer.com Daily Leagues: Expert Picks of the Week" gives serious Fanduel and salary cap league fantasy football players the most detailed player information and matchup analysis they are looking for—we do the hours of exhaustive research to compile all the valuable data you need to be competitive.  Our staff puts their name and reputation on the line each and every week to help you win big!  Up until Week 10, RotoBaller made this Expert Picks service available for $4.99 per week, but we are happy to announce that we are lowering our weekly subscription price to just $2.99, or $19.99 for the remainder of the 2013 fantasy football season.

Take a look at a sample of the Week 9 newsletter, which featured the likes of Eddie Lacy and T.Y. Hilton as just a couple of our expert picks, to see for yourself how this all works and get a taste for the advice we are dishing out!

RB (Value) - Eddie Lacy $6,800 - Did you realize that Green Bay is sporting the #4 run offense heading into Week 9?  That is largely due to their investment in Eddie Lacy in this past year's draft and their pledge early in the preseason to be a very balanced offensive team.  Now that we are halfway through the season and we realize that wasn't just double-talk by Mike McCarthy, we have to account for Lacy's skills and fantasy viability each and every week.  Hosting the Bears at home, Steady Eddie will have a marginally tough task at hand, but this is not quite your daddy's Chicago defense, so we are very confident that it should be business as usual on Sunday.  Averaging 17.2 fantasy points per game over the past three is not a shock, as the Packers have been reduced to a wide receiver corp resembling most teams' practice squads.  Make sure you are strongly considering this young buck for your Fanduel lineups this week.

BONUS PICK - WR (Value) - T.Y. Hilton $6,000 - My favorite odd man out almost every week is facing the pathetic Houston Texans defensive secondary in Week 9, and we anticipate a big performance out of him.  Priced so cheaply you can afford to get him in as #2 or #3 wide receiver and still have a few shekels to spare, we absolutely love this guy for the Colts' first game back from their bye.  With Reggie Wayne done for the season, it seems very likely that our boy T.Y. will be getting the lion's share of Andrew Luck's targets, and this can translate into a huge week against the surprisingly incompetent defense the Texans are sporting these days.  In the past, his boom-or-bust potential was limited by his snap counts and usage, but there are brighter days with way more targets in his future and the time is now to strike while you can still afford him.  Expect Mr. Hilton to go off for about six receptions and 70 yards with an almost 60% probability of scoring a receiving touchdown this week.
