UCL DFS Goalies

Walter Benítez - DK $4.3K || FD $10

Opponent -  vs. Arsenal FC

There are two primary options for value at the goalkeeper position today: Walter Benítez and Jan Oblak. The former will be highlighted. In the last five fixtures in all competitions for the Gunners, they have scored two or more goals twice. Furthermore, they have been held scoreless in back-to-back matches in the English Premier League.

It is no surprise that the visitors are lacking a true goal-scoring threat and the players and staff alike are becoming frustrated. In Benítez’s most recent five Champions League appearances, he has produced 19 saves and conceded eight goals. Over the season, in the Eredivisie, Benítez and PSV Eindhoven are fourth-best in Goals Against Per 90 and the best in Goals Differential Per 90. For under $4.5K on DraftKings, the goalkeeper will have every opportunity to reach value.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Gregor Kobel (DK $5.5K || FD $13) vs. Lille
  • Jan Oblak (DK $4.2K || FD 9) at Real Madrid

UCL DFS Forwards

Antoine Griezmann - DK $8K || FD $21

Opponent - at Real Madrid

If playing ‘CASH’ contests for Day One of Matchweek 10, Antoine Griezmann is one of the first ‘locks’ of lineup construction. The playmaker is the leading set piece taker for Atlético Madrid and is the only forward-eligible player on the slate with a solidified floor. Over his last five fixtures in all competitions–four starts–he has one goal, one assist, four shots, six chances created, 10 crosses, 10 corners, four tackles, and four clearances.

Real Madrid is far from being a shutdown defense. Nevertheless, they will prove difficult at the Bernabéu. However, they provide the ‘softest’ matchup on the slate.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Rodrygo (DK $8.4K || FD $20) vs. Atlético Madrid
  • Maximilian Beier (DK $5K || FD $14) vs. Lille

UCL DFS Midfielders

Joey Veerman - DK $7.4K || FD $18

Opponent -  vs. Arsenal FC

Joey Veerman continues to be the catalyst for PSV Eindhoven. The central midfielder has three assists, nine shots, 16 chances created, 29 crosses, 22 corners, 11 tackles, three interceptions, 10 clearances, and two blocks. This matchup, home against Arsenal FC, has the potential to be played in the middle of the pitch. This would benefit Veerman greatly.

Veerman is the only midfielder on the slate who plays a true role on set pieces for his respective club. This guarantees a floor and makes him an ‘attractive ‘CASH’ option.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Pascal Groß (DK $6.9K || FD $16) vs. Lille
  • Martin Ødegaard (DK $6.2K || FD $17) at PSV Eindhoven

UCL DFS Defenders

Richard Ledezma - DK $2.6K || FD $8

Opponent - vs. Arsenal FC

Defense is the most challenging position on the slate, and those playing on FanDuel may benefit from their defense-first scoring structure. Richie Ledezma is the defender of choice today, and for many reasons. On DraftKings, his stats and defensive aptitude do not translate well into fantasy points. However, on FanDuel, his efforts translate better.

Considering Arsenal’s continued offensive efforts, despite a lack of goal scoring, Ledezma had the potential for a big performance.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Mitchel Bakker (DK $3.5K || FD $10) at Borussia Dortmund
  • José Giménez (DK $2.7K || FD $12) at Real Madrid

Corner Takers

  • Borussia Dortmund: Pascal Groß
  • Lille: Rémy Cabella
  • Real Madrid: Rodrygo/Kylian Mbappé
  • Atlético Madrid: Antoine Griezmann
  • PSV Eindhoven: Joey Veerman
  • Arsenal FC: Martin Ødegaard/Declan Rice/Ethan Nwaneri

Thanks for reading The Kick-Off. Good luck in all of your contests today!
