Top Quarterback Waiver Wire and Streaming Options for Week 7: Derek Carr, Jordan Love, and Daniel Jones

Derek Carr - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Dan's fantasy football quarterback waiver wire pickups for Week 7 of the 2023 NFL season. His free agent QBs to add and QB streamers for 1QB and 2QB leagues.

Welcome back RotoBallers to our Week 7 quarterback fantasy football waiver wire pickups and streamers. Today, I will take a look at names like Derek Carr, Jordan Love, and Daniel Jones as QB options to help bolster your fantasy teams.

In this article, I will be focusing on players under 65% rostered in fantasy leagues while adding a couple of deep sleepers for two-quarterback leagues (less than 25% rostered).

Let's break down who you should consider picking up for Week 7.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Single-QB Waiver Wire Options and Stashes

Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints

Yahoo: 25% rostered

Derek Carr has been the king of empty passing calories for the quarterback position this year. The veteran quarterback had 50 pass attempts (the fourth time this season he was above 30 attempts) and 353 passing yards (the second time he’s gone above 300 yards this season) but only 16.3 fantasy points in a loss to the Texans.

Carr has yet to surpass 20 fantasy points this season, but with so many teams on bye in Week 7, he seems like an unavoidable waiver wire target given his passing volume. The Saints have a four-game stretch coming up against the Jaguars, Colts, Bears, and Vikings before the team heads to their bye in Week 11. All four of those teams are a top-10 fantasy quarterback matchup, which gives Carr long-term streaming appeal.

Carr isn’t going to win many fantasy matchups given his high-floor, low-ceiling fantasy ability. But with so many quarterbacks missing next week, he can be good enough to give you fantasy points against Jacksonville to keep your team competitive.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Yahoo: 63% rostered

Jordan Love was a solid fantasy producer throughout the first four weeks of the NFL season despite signals (namely a subpar completion percentage) that he wasn’t playing as well as his stats. Love had at least 17.0 fantasy points in his first four games while logging eight passing touchdowns compared to just three interceptions.

Then the wheels fell off in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Love threw for just 182 yards and had three interceptions in a rough Monday night football loss. The Packers have had a bye week to get healthy and back on track, which is great news considering Week 7’s matchup, the Denver Broncos, have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season (20.8).

Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Yahoo: 44% rostered

Daniel Jones has been awful this season, putting together just one game this season with double-digit fantasy scoring. Jones’ Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals makes up over 50% of his fantasy scoring this season. Jones is also dealing with a neck injury that ruled him out of Week 6’s game against the Buffalo Bills, although reports suggest that Jones will be back for Week 7.

Jones has struggled behind a porous offensive line with a wide receiver corps that has struggled to get separation this season. However, assuming Jones is active, he’s an intriguing fantasy option in Week 7 against the Washington Commanders. Washington was giving up the second-most points to quarterbacks in fantasy (21.1) before a nice bounce-back game against Desmond Ridder, but this is still a bad secondary that can be exploited.

Two-QB Waiver Wire Options and Stashes

Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts

Yahoo: 8% rostered

We saw bad Gardner Minshew in a revenge game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts backup quarterback completed 33 of 55 passes for 329 yards but had just one touchdown compared to three interceptions in the divisional loss. If there is one positive takeaway though, it is that the Colts trusted Minshew to throw the ball over 50 times.

Minshew will be leading the Colts offense for the foreseeable future with reports surfacing that Anthony Richardson may be facing season-ending shoulder surgery, even though his next two matchups (Cleveland and New Orleans) are bad for any quarterback, much less an average one.

With six teams on bye in Week 7, difficult choices must be made. That means Minshew is firmly on the waiver wire radar despite facing down a terrifying Cleveland defense that is allowing 11.6 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position this season.

Tyson Bagent, Chicago Bears

Yahoo: 0% rostered

The good news for Bears fans? Justin Fields doesn’t have a broken thumb. The bad news? Justin Fields dislocated his thumb against the Minnesota Vikings and needs to have an MRI to make sure there wasn’t any ancillary damage to any ligaments. The worst news? Fields looked very average once again, bringing his future as the Bears’ starting quarterback into question once again.

If the Bears decide to be cautious with Fields in Week 7 (allegedly the quarterback couldn’t grip a football after popping his thumb back into place), then UDFA rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent becomes pretty interesting. Bagent calmed down after fumbling in his first drive, completing 10 of 14 passes for 83 yards and an interception.

Bagent was prolific at Division II Shepherd during his collegiate career, passing for 17,034 yards and 159 touchdowns with 73 interceptions. He also had 12 rushing touchdowns in his career. If Fields can’t go, then Bagent draws a positive matchup against a Raiders secondary that has given up over 16 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks on the season.

As of this writing, there is a chance Fields plays, so Bagent is more of a stash than a priority at this time.
