Top MLB Betting Picks for Today's Slate (5/13/19)

Nate Duffett's MLB betting picks for 5/13/19. He analyzes Vegas lines and recommends the top expert bets for today's MLB slate including moneylines and over/unders.

Welcome back RotoBallers! On Monday, May 13th we see a short 7 game MLB slate. The day starts with a 6:35 PM game between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees and ends with a 10:10 PM game between the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners. There isn't much to choose from on today's slate, but we still have some value we can attack.

In this article, we will dive into the numbers and pick out my top recommended betting picks for today's slate. Feel free to hit me up on Twitter @Roto_Nate if you have any questions.

So without any further delay, below are my picks for Monday, May 13th. Good luck!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Cleveland Indians (-150) @ Chicago White Sox | O/U: 8.5

We have two offenses in this game that are struggling to put runs on the board. Cleveland has seen the under hit in six straight games, while the White Sox under has hit in five of their last six games, with the one over hitting by one run on a ninth-inning fielders choice. Just last week, these same two teams took part in a four-game set, where the under hit in three of the four games. Before you start to worry about the pitching match-up between Shane Bieber and Reynaldo Lopez, they faced off in the series last week and only allowed three runs each. Despite the low scoring totals, the Indians pitching staffs have been also putting them in a good position to win, and I feel they should be bigger favorites than this line would suggest.

My Picks: Under 8.5 (-105) and Indians (-150)

Los Angeles Angels @ Minnesota Twins (-137) | O/U: 9.0

There are some big-time Home/Away splits that jump out at me in this match-up that we have to exploit. First off, the Twins are 13-7 at home this season, while the Angels are 7-12 on the road. Add in the fact that Jose Berrios (6-1, 2.53 ERA) takes the mound tonight against the Angels, and I like the Twins chances to add another win to their record tonight. Another interesting split that jumped out to me is that the Over record for the Twins when playing at home is 8-12, while the Over for the Angels when they are away from their ballpark is just 6-12-1. I feel pretty confident in the fact that we could see a low-scoring Twins victory in Minnesota tonight.

My Pick: U 9.0 (-115) and Twins (-137)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Arizona Diamondbacks (-166) | O/U: 9.0

In this match-up we see two teams trending in opposite directions. The Pirates stormed back from the 17-4 blowout at the hands of the Cardinals to win three in a row against St.Louis. The Diamondbacks hosted the Atlanta Braves, which saw them take the opening game of the four-game set, but then lose three straight to close out the series. An interesting tidbit about the match-up is that the Diamondbacks have struggled at home, only putting up an 8-10 record. Meanwhile, the Pirates don't mind getting out of Pittsburgh, as they have boasted an 11-8 record on the road. These odds offer too much value after what we have seen in the past week from these two teams, and I plan on exploiting it tonight.

My Pick: Pirates (+143)
