Top Hitter Streamers for Week 4: Head-to-Head or Weekly Leagues

Jeff Kahntroff looks at the top six MLB hitter streamer options for Week 4 fantasy baseball. These hitters are ideal for weekly or head-to-head leagues.

Below are my top MLB hitter streamer options for Week 4 of fantasy baseball. All six players listed here are under 50% owned in Yahoo leagues and play seven games this week.  This week is a mix of power and speed guys.

Streaming hitters is a great way to increase production and fantasy stats off the waiver wire for your head-to-head matchups, or if you're dealing with some underperformers on your roster. Check back weekly for my favorite hitter streamers for the upcoming week.

Editor’s Note: RotoBaller’s fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups list is updated every single day. Our awesome writers bring you analysis on hot or emerging starting pitchers, and also all other fantasy positions. Waiver Wire Hitter Streamers - Week 4

1. Dustin Ackley, OF, Mariners

(3 @ Texas, 4 @ Houston) - 8% owned

Ackley hit 10 homers in his final 58 games last year.  He's started this year off with three.  Playing in hitters parks all week, against favorable pitching matchups, I like Ackley to be one of the best streaming sources of power with acceptable batting average and decent counting stats.

2. Austin Jackson, OF, Mariners

(3 @ Texas, 4 @ Houston) - 45% owned

When Jackson is on his game, he can produce in all five categories.  He has been inconsistent, and has struggled in Seattle, but the good news?  He plays seven games this week in hitters' parks, versus pretty poor pitching.  Look for a rebound from Austin Jackson this week.

3. Jed Lowrie, SS, Astros

(3 @ San Diego, 4 vs. Seattle) - 19% owned

Jed Lowrie is the power option in the middle-infield this week.  In Lowrie's last season with the Astros, which was 2012, he hit 16 homers in 97 games.  This year, he has 3 in his first 14 games.  He should also provide acceptable counting stats and average.  Lowrie would be higher if he had better matchups.

4. Jose Ramirez, SS/2B, Indians

(3 vs. KC, 4 vs. Toronto) - 4% owned

If you need a middle infielder, Jose Ramirez has favorable matchups this week.  He should be a decent source of speed, with 3 steals this year after 10 in 68 games last year, and a history of stolen bases in the minors.  He can also hit the occasional home run.  While maybe not the best utility hitting option, he is likely available and is a great middle infield option.

5. Adam Eaton, OF, Sox

(3 @ Baltimore, 4 @ Minnesota) - 46% owned

Eaton is off to a slow start, and fresh off a run-in with Yordano Ventura, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.  If you are looking for average and runs, with a mix of stolen bases, Eaton should be atop the White Sox order in great matchups with some bashers behind him.  If you are looking for power, look elsewhere however.

6. Micah Johnson, 2B, White Sox

(3 @ Baltimore, 4 @ Minnesota) - 15% owned

Micah Johnson is a good speed fill-in middle infielder for the week, who should be able to get by without killing you in the average department.  He won't provide much power or many RBIs, but he is a role player that could help depending upon your lineup.
