Top Fantasy Football Injuries From Sunday: Breece Hall, DK Metcalf, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Mike Williams, Chuba Hubbard, David Njoku

Amon-Ra St. Brown - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Top Injuries From Week 7 Football for RB, WR, QB, TE (2022), as of 10/24 -- Breece Hall, DK Metcalf, Amon-Ra. St Brown, Mike Williams, Chuba Hubbard, and David Njoku

Our long list of NFL stars with injuries always grows when a new slate of games is played, and Week 7 of the NFL season was no different. Our fantasy football injuries report highlights the banged-up players with fantasy significance and their early status heading into Week 8 as of Monday, October 24th, 2022. This article focuses on players who suffered injuries on Sunday of Week 7 games.

Breece Hall, DK Metcalf, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Mike Williams, Chuba Hubbard, and David Njoku are the most notable players who picked up injuries in Week 7. It's too early to draw conclusions about Week 8 since these players just picked up ailments, but it's never too early to at least take a look at the group of key guys to prepare for waiver wire Wednesday or Thursday.

Breece Hall Injury Update

New York Jets rookie running back Breece Hall (knee) didn't return to Sunday's game against the Broncos. While there hasn't been an official word on the rookie's condition, head coach Robert Saleh reported that the "initial diagnosis is not good," suggesting it may be an ACL injury. The 21-year-old entered Week 7 with 391 rushing yards off 76 carries and 218 yards off 19 catches while totaling four touchdowns.

Hall could be out for a while, or even worse, he may be done for the year. Either way, Michael Carter will likely take over most of the rushing duties. Ty Johnson, who scored four times last season, could also get some more work.

DK Metcalf Injury Update

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (knee) was forced to exit the team's Week 7 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers early after suffering a knee injury in the first half. Head coach Pete Carroll told reporters after the game that initial X-rays "showed nothing", but that Metcalf would undergo an MRI upon his arrival in Seattle.

Fantasy managers should prepare to be without the fourth-year wideout for a few weeks but remain hopeful that he can return this season. Further details on the extent of the injury should be available early in the week.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Injury Update

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion) was ruled out of the Week 7 game against the Dallas Cowboys early. The young receiver had been dealing with an ankle injury since before the Lions' bye, so it's frustrating to see his return to the field come to an abrupt halt.

He finished the day with one reception for four yards. As always, it's tough to speculate on concussions, so fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his latest injury updates.

Mike Williams Injury Update

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (ankle) said in the locker room after the team's Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks that he has a "sprain" in his right ankle. He was injured on a fourth down in the fourth quarter on Sunday when his cleat got caught in the grass as he was tackled by Seahawks cornerback Michael Jackson. Williams had a walking boot on his lower right leg when he left the locker room, and he couldn't put any weight on his right leg before putting the walking boot on.

He'll undergo an MRI exam on Monday but vowed: "I'm gonna be back." The 28-year-old caught seven of nine targets for 86 yards and a touchdown before leaving, and depending on his MRI results, there's a chance Williams won't have to miss any time with the bye week coming in Week 8.

Chuba Hubbard Injury Update

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle in the fourth quarter of the team's Week 7 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and did not return. Fortunately, the sprain is believed to be minor and the second-year back "could have come back in if needed", but D'Onta Foreman was able to shine in his absence.

Hubbard totaled 73 yards from scrimmage and found the end zone before exiting in his first start without Christian McCaffrey on the roster. Assuming he is good to go for Week 8, Hubbard will be an interesting flex option in most fantasy leagues.

David Njoku Injury Update

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) was seen in a walking boot following the team's Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens and is reportedly dealing with an ankle sprain that "isn't serious." Tests early this week will help determine Njoku's availability for Week 8, but the good news is that the talented tight end should avoid a multi-game absence with Cleveland's bye coming in Week 9.

With the Browns playing next Monday night, Njoku will have over a week to recover, so fantasy managers should monitor practice reports to see his chances of suiting up. If the Browns decide to hold him before the Week 9 bye, Harrison Bryant could be a nice bye-week streamer in deeper leagues.

Allen Lazard Injury Update

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard (shoulder) was knocked out of the game early against the Washington Commanders in Week 7 and did not return. He hauled in six of seven targets for 55 yards before exiting.

Green Bay's already weak wide receiver corps is now down to Sammy WatkinsRomeo Doubs, and Amari Rodgers. One of those three could be a decent flex option against Buffalo if Lazard misses time, but all have low floors and low ceilings.
