The 2022 NFL season is now a month old (pending Monday Night Football), so as always, key injuries for fantasy football are continuing to pile up. Our fantasy football injuries report highlights several players with fantasy significance and their latest status heading into Week 5 as of Monday, October 3rd, 2022. This article highlight news injuries for Week 4 games.

It's far too early to know the gameday status of most of these guys since their games are six days away, but players like Jonathan Taylor, Javonte Williams, and Treylon Burks were banged up in their Week 4 games, and are worth mentioning early in the week.

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was believed to have possibly suffered a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's contest. Luckily, the tests are coming back and the organization doesn't believe this is a long-term issue. He could still miss time, but hopefully, it won't be anything significant.

He rushed 20 times for 42 yards during the Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans. It remains to be seen if he'll be healthy enough to suit up for Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. Otherwise, Nyheim Hines could be seeing an increased workload.

Javonte Williams Injury Update

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams (knee) exited early in the second half of the team's Week 5 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and did not return. He is feared to have suffered a serious knee injury and was spotted leaving the locker room on crutches. An MRI tomorrow will determine the full extent of the injury, but the Broncos do not have high hopes for good news.

This is a potentially brutal blow for both the second-year back and Denver's offense. Melvin Gordon III figures to be the next man up, but the veteran has struggled with fumbles to begin the season and Mike Boone has seen some action in each of the past two weeks. Boone will become a waiver wire commodity heading into a Week 5 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

 

Cordarrelle Patterson Injury Update

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) is headed to Injured Reserve but is expected to return at some point this season. His placement on IR means he'll be out for at least four weeks. Rookie Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley combined for 140 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Browns and will be the featured backs moving forward. Damien Williams (rib) could return soon, too, so he's worth noting.

For now, it's tough to say whether Allgeier or Huntley is the player to start in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it'll be a tough matchup against one of the league's premier front sevens in the NFL.

Treylon Burks Injury Update

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks (foot) was observed on crutches and wearing a boot on his left foot after Sunday's win over the Colts. The 22-year-old had only two catches for 14 yards in Week 4 before ultimately sustaining the injury that ruled him out.

Nonetheless, Burks' availability for Week 5 (and beyond) is in jeopardy after the latest update. If he misses time, it may mean more targets for Robert WoodsKyle Philips, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine moving ahead.

 

Tom Brady Injury Update

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady didn't miss a snap during Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Although, there was some concern about Brady's health following a play in the first half. The 45-year-old was strip-sacked and came up clutching his right arm.

When asked about it, Brady said he'll be fine, so he certainly isn't concerned. He did return to action and finished with a season-high 385 passing yards with three touchdowns in the loss. This arm/shoulder issue is something to monitor heading into next week, but it sounds like Brady is fine.

 

Daniel Jones Injury Update

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (ankle) is currently considered day-to-day following an injury he suffered during the Week 4 win over the Chicago Bears. The 25-year-old had his ankle wrapped, but never went into the locker room. Tyrod Taylor briefly came in before possibly suffering an injury himself.

After that, Jones was forced back into the game to help close out the contest. The tests are still coming in, but the team appears to be optimistic about Jones. They will continue to monitor him throughout the week, but this doesn't sound like a long-term injury.

 

Julio Jones Injury Update

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Julio Jones (knee) caught one pass on two targets for seven yards in Sunday's 41-31 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He had been sidelined since Week 1 with a partially torn PCL in his knee and returned to action for Sunday Night Football against Kansas City. The veteran had only two targets and was shut out in the second half.

According to Bucs' head coach Todd Bowles, Jones got "nicked up," so the team held him out. Jones is considered day-to-day and will be limited in practice this week. The 33-year-old is a roster stash for now but has a plus matchup against his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, in Week 5.

 

Jahan Dotson Injury Update

Washington Commanders rookie wide receiver Jahan Dotson (hamstring) was knocked out of the game in the second half and was quickly ruled questionable to return against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He totaled three catches, 43 yards, and one touchdown before exiting.

Terry McLaurinCurtis SamuelJ.D. McKissic, and Logan Thomas will handle additional pass-catching duties if Dotson is sidelined further. For now, that doesn't seem likely thought.

 

Isaiah McKenzie Injury Update

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) did not return to Sunday's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The former Georgia Bulldog finished the afternoon by catching four of his six targets for 21 yards.

He also scored a touchdown, his third of the year. McKenzie is arguably the team's No. 2 wideout, so if he can't go in Week 5 against Pittsburgh, it would be a massive blow for Josh Allen, who would rely even more on Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.
