NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 5/25/23

During the NHL playoff games, scoring tends to be low, and physicality is heightened. As a result, teams with a knack for goal-scoring become more cautious and selective with their shots. I'll provide you with guidance for the DraftKings and FanDuel showdown slate starting at 8:00 p.m. EST to help you navigate through this intense matchup.

NHL DFS Core Plays - Showdown Edition For 5/25/2023

Captain

Jonathan Marchessault  - DK $12.6K || FD $13.0K

Marchessault is on fire, having recorded seven goals, four assists, 44 shots on goal, and three blocked shots in his last 10 games. He's been instrumental in driving the success of Vegas' top line. While initially struggling in the first round against Winnipeg, registering only two points, the winger has since ignited his game. Considering his offensive production, Marchessault is a highly recommended option to include in your lineup if you create a Vegas stack in Game 4.

Adin Hill - DK $14.1K

Hill should be considered to pick in DraftKings for Game 4 as he is making a significant impact in the playoffs for the Golden Knights. In Game 3 against the Stars, he recorded a shutout with 34 saves. In the playoffs, he holds a 6-1 record accompanied by a stellar save percentage of .940 across eight games. Filling in for the injured Laurent Brossoit, he has shown remarkable consistency, winning five consecutive games. Notably, he has made 30 or more saves in four out of his six starts in the postseason.

Jason Robertson - DK $14.7K || FD $16.0K

Despite Jason Robertson failing to record any points in Game 3 and the Stars finding themselves in a 3-0 series deficit, he has managed to contribute with two goals, one assist, five hits, and five shots on goal during the three games. It's worth noting that he comes at a slightly lower price compared to teammate Roope Hintz, who has also accumulated three points in the series. However, Hintz has not registered a point in the last two games.

Value Plays

Ivan Barbashev - DK $4.6K || FD $7.5K

Barbashev is a great value option for Thursday. In Game 3, the forward contributed with one goal and two assists. He now has 13 points in 14 games during this postseason. He scored a power-play goal in Game 3 and is currently part of a formidable even-strength line alongside center Jack Eichel, who leads Vegas with 16 points in 14 contests. Another key player on their line is Jonathan Marchessault, who is tied for the Golden Knights' lead with seven goals and leads the team with 54 shots on goal.

Tyler Seguin - DK $7.4K || FD $8.5K

Despite not registering a point in the first three games of the Western Conference Final against Vegas, Tyler Seguin has consistently generated offensive opportunities with 11 shots on goal in the series. In his playoff career, Seguin has shown his ability to thrive under pressure, amassing three goals and eight assists in 15 games when facing elimination. Regarding shots on goal, the forward is tied for the second-highest total on the team, having unleashed 48 shots. Additionally, he has been a critical contributor to the power play, leading the Stars in power-play markers with four during this postseason.

Chandler Stephenson - DK $5.4K || FD $9.5K

In the first three games against Dallas, Stephenson has two assists, three shots on goal, and one blocked shot. As a center, Stephenson possesses solid playmaking skills and tends to prioritize setting up his teammates. His chemistry with winger Mark Stone has been evident, as Stone has tallied four goals and six assists in the playoffs.

NHL DFS Stacks

  • VGK1: Barbashev-Eichel-Marchessault
  • VGK2: Howden-Stephenson-Stone
  • DAL1: Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski
  • DAL3: Marchment-Johnston-Seguin
