NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 4/12/22

Yesterday we were blessed with a “night off” thanks to the one game, in which the Jets won 4-2 over the Canadiens. Tonight, however, will be a much different slate with the largest slate so far this season, 14 GAMES!!!! There are a few solid matchups and a few solid “playoff” style games to watch as well. I will do my best in guiding you through this fourteen-game slate on DraftKings starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

There are zero teams playing on the second-half of a back-to-back. The Red Wings and their league-worst 3.77 GA will host the Senators, while the Panthers and their league-best 4.1 GF will hunt down the Ducks in Florida.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky- DK $8.4K || FD $9K

Opponent - Anaheim Ducks

Thanks to the massive slate tonight, there are a plethora of options and it will certainly be a spend-up night at goalie. However, picking the right goalies will make or break your chances of winning. Bobrovsky will be just that, going against one of the most inconsistent offenses in recent weeks. In the last seven games for the Ducks, they have only scored more than twice in two of them and each game was against a below-average defense – Flyers and Coyotes –. Bob may give up a goal and hopefully not more than that, but at his price compared to others, this is the best chance of winning for the price.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Markstrom (DK $8.5K || FD $8.7K), Vasilevskiy (DK $8.2K || FD $8.5K, Jarry (DK $7.9K || FD $7.7K), Lehner (DK $7.9K || FD $7.9K), Andersen (DK $7.8K || FD $8.4K), Forsberg (DK $7.6K || FD $7.1K), Shesterkin (DK $7.6K || FD $8.9K), Husso (DK $7.3K || FD $8.1K)

NHL DFS Centers

Nico Hischier-DK $5.7K || FD $6.6K

Opponent - Arizona Coyotes

The Devil's prospering young center has taken a much bigger step in his growth since teammate Jack Hughes got injured. Hischier has 1 goal, 3 assists and 7 shots in the three-game span. He will also get a soft matchup against the Coyotes' poor defense and goaltending. For a mid-range salaried center, this is a bargain deal if there ever was one.

Chandler Stephenson- DK $3.3K || FD $5.4K

Opponent - Vancouver Canucks

Albeit going against a strong netminder, if the lineups remain the same, Stephenson is an instant lock. He is currently slated to center Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone on the third line. In Stephenson's one performance with Pacioretty, he has 2 assists and 1 shot. His peripherals have never been there, but he has a very high potential for little salary.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Matthews (DK $9.8K || FD $10.4K), Barkov (DK $8.5K || FD $9.7K), Draisaitl (DK $7.5K || FD $10K), Larkin (DK $6.9K || FD $8.2K), Kuznetsov (DK $6.4K || FD $7.4K), Kopitar (DK $5.2K || FD $6.1K), Kayes (DK $3.9K || FD $5.1K), Lundell (DK $3.5K || FD $5.7K)

NHL DFS Wings

Mathieu Joseph- DK $3K || FD $3.7K

Opponent - Detroit Red Wings

There are too many options to pick from up top tonight and value will be needed. This is a perfect spot to go because of Mathieu's form and the lack of form the Red Wings have defensively and in the net – 19 goals conceded in the last five –. The now top-line winger of the Senators has dropped back down to Earth a little since his promotion, but it is well worth the shot. In his last five games, he has 1 goal, 5 assists and 7 shots.

Alex Ovechkin- DK $8.3K || FD $9.6K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

Ovechkin is tuning into his playoff mindset and it is a force to be reckoned with. The Metro is becoming increasingly tighter and it is making each and every game more important for seeding. This will only boost his drive to perform. However, Ovechkin does not need a reason to perform with double-digit fantasy points in seven of his last eight performances. In that time he has 5 goals, 2 assists and 28 shots as well.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Gaudreau (DK $7.6K || FD $9.2K), Forsberg (DK $7.4K || FD $8.5), B.Tkachuk (DK $6.3K || FD $7K), Bratt (DK $6.2K || FD $6.9K), Schmaltz (DK $5.2K || FD $6.3K), Kempe (DK $5K || FD $6.2K), Rakell (DK $4.4K || FD $5.3K), Duclair (DK $3.4K || FD $5.8K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Erik Brannstrom- DK $3.4K || FD $4.1K

Opponent - Detroit Red Wings

We are going to visit the Senators once again for another value play, but this time at the blueline. Brannstrom still has the keys to the top power-play unit and he is finally starting to put points on the board. In his last five games, he has 3 assists, 8 shots and 7 blocked shots. Add in the sketchy netminder opposite of him and he should be set up to succeed here.

Jared Spurgeon- DK $4.3K || FD $5.2K

Opponent - Edmonton Oilers

There are many options at defense, however, not many are consistent. Spurgeon has 1 goal, 5 assists, 13 shots and 7 blocked shots in his last five games. He is one of the only in-form players for the Wild and the Oilers still struggle at the goaltender position. Spurgeon certainly has the potential to extend his assist streak to eight games tonight.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Josi (DK $8.8K || FD $8K), Weegar (DK $6K || FD $5.8K), Seider (DK $5.9K || FD $6.1K), Durzi (DK $4.9K || FD $5.2K), Gostisbehere (DK $4.8K || FD $5.4K), Slavin (DK $4.4K || FD $5.1K), Martinez (DK $3.9K || FD $3.9K), Ekman-Larsson (DK $3.5K || FD $4.2K)
