The Miami Dolphins are swimming in hot water after starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 4 and left the field on a stretcher. Backup Teddy Bridgewater played a single snap in Week 5 before leaving the game to be evaluated for a concussion, leaving many with questions about his condition.
As most of us know, Tua sustained an initial injury against the Bills in Week 3. Miami made the call to send him back on the field following a loose interpretation of the rules in the concussion protocol. The questionable evaluation prompted the league to revisit the protocol’s standards to ensure player safety.
So, did Teddy Bridgewater sustain a significant head injury or is the team just being cautious? Who can we expect to start for Miami in Week 6?

Is Teddy Bridgewater Injured? Will He Play in Week 6?
Bridgewater’s blow to the head didn’t look particularly vicious, and he hasn’t shown any symptoms of trauma throughout the week.
The Dolphins are under a microscope in response to Tua’s concussion, so they might be wise to disclose anyone who suffers so much as a splinter on the injury report.
Jokes aside, available evidence indicates the team is covering their bases twice while the league’s concussion protocol is under heavy scrutiny. Teddy can return to practice without restriction by Friday if he is cleared.
Head coach Mike McDaniel said they plan to start rookie Skylar Thompson against the Vikings this Sunday. Bridgewater will likely be available to serve as the team's backup.
Thompson stepped in last week to complete 19/33 pass attempts for 166 yards against the Jets. He also recorded a fumble and an interception. Thompson has weapons but he isn’t on the fantasy radar. You’re still starting Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but their efficiency may dip with the rookie under center.
His name may be Teddy, but the guy isn’t soft. Expect Bridgewater to suit up for Week 6 as the backup and look elsewhere for a fantasy starter.
