Quick and Dirty: Sunday Streamers for Week 4

The Roto Mechanic analyzes some of his favorite fantasy baseball MLB starting pitcher (SP) streamers for the last day of Week 4, especially helpful in Head to Head leagues and Roto Leagues

MLB Starting Pitchers to Stream for Sunday April 27th

I'm filling in for our usual Sunday Streamer columnist Nate Miller to provide all ya'll RotoBallers with some quick and dirty Sunday Streamer candidates.  If you're playing in a H2H league and need some nice stats on the last day of the week, or if you're in a Roto league and just wanna roll the dice and enjoy a few extra starts on Sunday afternoon, these are some pitchers with ripe matchups you should consider streaming.

1) Wily Peralta, MIL

48% Owned. Matchup: CHC

rotoballer-fantasy-baseball-advice-wily-peraltaPeralta has been very good in the early going, pitching to contact more and inducing a ton of groundballs. He gets the Cubs today home in Miller Park.

Not only do the Brewers own the best winning %  in all of baseball, but the Cubs are the worst team in the NL Central. The Cubs also rank absolutely dead last in offense vs. RHP.  This is a no brainer matchup that promises low ratios and strong likelihood for a W.

2) Tom Koehler, NYM

12% Owned. Matchup: @NYM

Koehler has overachieved in the early going, outperforming his real skills and putting up great numbers so far including a 2.13 ERA. While we usually try and look a little deeper than surface stats like ERA to analyze a pitcher, Koehler has a couple things going for him. First, he gets to pitch in Citi Field today, one of the best pitchers parks in all of baseball. Second, he gets to pitch vs. the New York Mets, who rank 28th in offense vs. RHP.  Third, his last outing was a dominant one, putting up an 8:2 K:BB ratio vs. the swing happy Braves. Lucky for Koehler, the Mets are even more swing happy vs. RHP, ranking 7th overall in K% vs. righties.  Koehler is a great deep league streamer today.

3) Tommy Milone, OAK

7% Owned. Matchup: @HOU

Milone is one of those starters who you'll hear called a "crafty lefty". What that means is that he's simply not a good pitcher, but he occasionally finds ways to put together decent stretches of pitching.  This is something only crafty lefties can do, you see, because righties who put together decent stretches while being mostly yawn-inducing don't deserve a special title.  This is a long way of saying Milone is not a good pitcher by MLB standards. But that's got nothing to do with being a good streamer for this Sunday.  Oakland is tied for the best winning % in the American League, and the Astros are proud owners of the worst, giving Milone a high likelihood to get the W.  More importantly, the Astros rank 24th in offense vs. LHP, and 8th in K% vs. LHP, giving Milone a good chance to rack up some Ks even if he gives up a few runs.
