Spurs FPL Team Preview - Fantasy Premier League Predictions, Tips, Picks for 2024/25

Soccer - Fantasy Premier League, FPL, Team Previews

Spurs FPL team preview, predictions, tips, and picks for Fantasy Premier League lineups. RotoBaller's EPL fantasy football team previews for 2024/25.

Welcome to the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League season, RotoBallers! The game has officially launched for the new season, and it's time to start preparing for another year of FPL. We will have you covered from the preseason in July until the final kick of the season in May and everything else that happens in between.

The Top four teams from the 2023/24 Premier League season have completed their FPL previews on the site. It's time to get into the next four teams who are hoping they can jump into a Champions League spot this year. Spurs kick us off as they head into their second season without Harry Kane and sophomore year with Ange Postecoglou at the helm.

The first deadline of the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League season is August 16 at 1:30 p.m. ET, when Manchester United welcomes Fulham to open the campaign. Also, check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every English Premier League slate and UEFA Champions League game with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

FPL Team Previews: Spurs

Things looked hunky dory for Spurs through the first month and a half of the season, but some critical injuries and absences saw them handing the final Champions League spot to Aston Villa. Fortunately, a fifth-place finish isn't bad for a rookie manager and a team without its talisman (Harry Kane) for the first time in nearly a decade. With Brennan Johnson and several other youngsters on the horizon, Spurs is looking to take that next step to go from Champions League pretender to Champions League regular.

Last Season's Spurs Stats

  • League Finish: Fifth, 66 points
  • Most goals: Son Heung-min, 17 points
  • Most assists: Brennan Johnson, 12 assists
  • Most FPL Points: Son Heung-min, 213 points

Who is your favorite Spurs defender for the upcoming FPL campaign?

  • Pedro Porro (£5.5M) was an FPL darling last season, but changing the BPS (Bonus Points System) decreases my interest in the Spanish defender. Instead, my eyes wandered over to Cristian Romero (£5.0M) to save some money. The center-back scored five goals in the previous campaign but is a little hot-headed, with seven yellow cards and a red card. The Argentinian defender made 33 starts and is a steady presence in the Spurs defense. They have strong fixtures over the first two weeks (lei, EVE), but I'm not sure if I'll start with any Spurs defender for the 2024.25 FPL season.

Which Spurs midfielder is catching your eye?

  • Son Heung-min (£10.0M) kept his classification as a midfielder, but his price bracket puts him up with the likes of Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, and Phil Foden. He's going to lose that battle. As a result, Brennan Johnson (£6.5M) is the midfielder I'd like from Spurs. The Welsh winger became synonymous with his back post runs to finish off Tottenham's counter-attacking ways last season, and he should only improve in his second season with the club. There's a lot of competition to start in the Spurs attack, but if Johnson picks up where he left off, he should start more often.

The Spurs forward who will be bagging us some FPL points is...?

  • Almost by process of elimination, it has to be Richarlison (£7.0M). The Brazilian forward was reclassified from a midfielder to a forward for the 2024/25 season, and it may hamper his prospects as an FPL pick. He was injured down the stretch last year and didn't play at Copa America for his country, either. A few healthy preseason games would put him back in the FPL consciousness, but it'll be a wait-and-see for my FPL squad with Richarlison.

What run of fixtures favors Spurs the most for the 2024/25 FPL season?

  • Tottenham battles Newcastle and Arsenal in back-to-back weeks for Gameweeks 3 and 4, but then it's clean air after those two matches. From Gameweeks 5-20, Spurs only have two games with a four or higher on FPL's FDR (Fixture Difficulty Rating). If FPL managers are inclined towards an early Wildcard this year, it would be a prime time to bring in the maximum number of Spurs players for an extended period.

How many Spurs players will you have in your Gameweek 1 squad?

  • I'm enamored with Brennan Johnson's price and potential, so I'd like to have him in my Gameweek 1 squad. If I wanted to do an early Wildcard like Gameweek 3, I would go all in on the Spurs' defense for those opening fixtures. However, that's not usually how I play, so I can see myself going with one and taking a wait-and-see approach to the North London club.

What is one bold FPL prediction for any Spurs player?

  • I've been harping on about him for the entire preview, so he has to be the center of my bold prediction. Brennan Johnson leads all Spurs players in FPL points and is a top-five midfielder for the 2024/25 season.
