Should I Pickup And Start Noah Fant In Week 12? Fantasy Football Outlook

Noah Fant - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant has been irrelevant for fantasy players this season. The former Denver Bronco is the TE24 for the year, averaging only 5.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

However, the former first-round pick has played better lately. Over the past two games, the former Iowa star tight end has averaged five targets and 8.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

Last week, the Seahawks had their bye. This week, they face the Las Vegas Raiders. Given the matchup, should fantasy players start Fant in Week 12?

Should I Pickup And Start Noah Fant In Week 12 Fantasy Football?

While the veteran tight end hasn’t turned into a reliable fantasy player, he has played well for the Seahawks this year. Fant had three receptions on four targets for 34 receiving yards in Seattle's last game before the bye.

Meanwhile, the former first-round pick has an appealing matchup this week. The Raiders have surrendered 11.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, the fifth-most in the NFL. However, they have held tight ends to only 7.4 fantasy points per game over their past three contests. Furthermore, Las Vegas has actually done well at defending tight ends this year.

In Week 5, the Raiders gave up four receiving touchdowns and 30 fantasy points to Travis Kelce. In their other nine games this season, they have held tight ends to only 9.6 fantasy points per game. Moreover, Las Vegas has held tight ends not named Kelce to only two touchdowns this season.

More importantly, Fant isn’t the only Seahawks tight end. Will Dissly is the TE22 for the year, averaging 5.7 fantasy points per game. He has scored 10.5 or more fantasy points in three games this year, while Fant has only one such performance.

The tight end's matchup is appealing this week, but fantasy players should look for a better streaming option on the waiver wire.

What Other Tight Ends On The Waiver Wire Should I Consider?

Instead of adding Fant off the waiver wire, fantasy players should target Juwan Johnson. The New Orleans tight end is available in over 60% of ESPN leagues.

The former college wide receiver turned NFL tight end is the TE8 for the year, averaging 7.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he has five receiving touchdowns over the past five weeks, scoring at least once in every game, including last week.

While his matchup against the San Francisco 49ers isn’t ideal, Johnson’s touchdown upside makes him a better streaming option than Fant.
