The tight end position is a bit of a mystery in Week 1. Injuries to various players have created a lot of uncertainty. And the Green Bay Packers pass-catchers are a mystery as well, as injuries have decimated an already thin receiving room.
Could that mean Packers tight end Luke Musgrave is worth playing in fantasy football this week?
Let's look at the Week 1 fantasy football outlook for Musgrave.

Who is Luke Musgrave?
Luke Musgrave is a rookie tight end for the Green Bay Packers. He played his college career at Oregon State, spending four seasons with the Beavers.
Musgrave looked poised for a breakout season in 2022, but a knee injury limited him to two games. He caught 11 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown in that action.
It was enough to convince the Packers to spend a second-round pick on Musgrave in this year's NFL Draft.
Are The Packers Dealing With Injuries?
Normally, it'd be risky to trust a rookie tight end in his first NFL start, but the Packers are especially thin at receiver. They entered the year with arguably the shallowest receiving room in the NFL.
And this week, the team will be without its No. 1 receiver, Christian Watson. And it could also be missing No. 2 receiver Romeo Doubs.
It's not a great situation for a team to be in. Doubs has a chance to suit up, but even if he does, the team will be light in terms of pass-catching options.
Should I Play Luke Musgrave In Week 1?
Musgrave is likely on the waiver wire in your league. He currently is rostered in just 17% of leagues. Should you add him?
Probably. With so much uncertainty surrounding this offense, Musgrave is worth a speculative add ahead of Week 1 in the event that he makes an early impact.
However, he's also a rookie tight end in an offense that will likely keep the ball on the ground. Adding him is a good call, but it's too risky to put him in your starting lineup this weekend. There are safer options.
