Joey analyzes Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. and tells you which Miami Dolphin running back you should pick in 2023 fantasy football drafts.
The Miami Dolphins will enter the year with three speedy backs: Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., and De'Von Achane. Achane, a rookie selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, is going way earlier than both veterans in fantasy drafts this season.
Mostert and Wilson have similar average draft positions (ADP) on ESPN, going around the 11th to 12th round in most 10-12 leagues. The two veteran running backs will likely start the season ahead of Achane on the depth chart, so they should see more opportunities early on.

Should I Draft Raheem Mostert For Fantasy Football?
ADP: 143.7 on ESPN, 150.5 on Sleeper
Injuries have hurt Raheem Mostert over his career. He has played just one full season in his career (2019) and has missed 24 games during the past three years. In 2022, though, the 31-year-old running back played in 16 of 17 games, which helped his fantasy value.
In the only two seasons that Mostert has played 16 games, he has two RB25 finishes in PPR formats (2019 and 2022). Last year, the veteran ran 181 times for 891 yards and caught 31 passes for 202 yards, all career highs.
Mostert is one of the most explosive runners in the NFL. However, he just hasn't been able to stay healthy. If he can be on the field, Mostert could still be fantasy relevant, even if the rookie Achane breaks out at some point. The problem is, we can't trust him to play a full season.
Should I Draft Jeff Wilson Jr. For Fantasy Football?
ADP: 137.8 on ESPN, 180.8 on Sleeper
Jeff Wilson Jr.'s ADP is very interesting this season because he's going higher than Mostert in ESPN drafts and lower (by a lot) in Sleeper drafts. With Achane also in the mix, it's hard to get a read on this Dolphins' running back group.
Wilson came over from the San Francisco 49ers last season and was used immediately in Miami's offense. In his first two games, he ran for 170 yards and played over 50% of the team snaps. He also averaged 10.6 PPR fantasy points in eight games with the Dolphins. But like Mostert, injuries have been a problem for the 27-year-old. The former North Texas star has missed 18 games over the past four seasons.
With both players going around the same time in ESPN drafts, Wilson feels like the better value pick. Mostert's age (31) does scare me a bit, and Miami used Wilson more last season. Realistically, though, Achane will be incorporated too. This is a messy backfield to own anyone.
