Should I Add Mecole Hardman In Fantasy Football For Week 10? Waiver Wire Outlook

Mecole Hardman - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I pick up Mecole Hardman for fantasy football Week 10? Is Mecole Hardman a good target from the waiver wire? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

The Kansas City Chiefs entered their Week 9 matchup against the Tennessee Titans as a consensus favorite to secure a victory. A Titans offense led by rookie quarterback Malik Willis managed to drag out the contest before falling short in an unexpected overtime finish.

The Chiefs pulled away with a 3-point victory, but a quick look at the offensive stats presents a puzzling picture of how the Titans managed to keep the game within reach. Despite a relatively low-scoring output from the Chiefs offense, the matchup set the stage for Patrick Mahomes to throw for a career-high 68 pass attempts on his way to 422 yards. Malik Willis completed just five passes while the offense accumulated 229 total yards.

Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman brought in the only receiving touchdown of the game from seven yards out in the second quarter. Hardman now has four consecutive games with double-digit half-PPR fantasy points and belongs in the fantasy football discussion.

Has Mecole Hardman established himself as a viable fantasy asset? Should he be a target on waivers? Here’s what we know.

What Has Mecole Hardman Done So Far In Fantasy Football?

Mecole Hardman returned from the Chiefs’ bye week to see a season-high nine targets in Week 9. Those targets translated into six receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown, resulting in 16.9 half-PPR fantasy points.

While his weekly yardage totals are respectable, he has yet to surpass more than his 79 yards in Week 9. Hardman’s fantasy value comes from his propensity to find the end zone and offers a low floor when he doesn’t score a touchdown.

Hardman demonstrated his value as a receiver out of the backfield in Week 7 when he pushed each of his rushing attempts in for a touchdown against the 49ers. He added another receiving touchdown for a career-high 26 fantasy points. The Chiefs find creative ways to move the ball, but Hardman’s four total carries this season indicate his rushing production should be seen as more of an outlier than an expectation.

Should I Add Mecole Hardman From the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football For Week 10?

Patrick Mahomes has an arsenal of dynamic weapons to keep opposing defenses on their toes. Hardman has asserted himself as an effective playmaker, but a deep receiving corps presents steep competition for targets. Hardman is currently fourth in targets among the Chiefs with a 10% target share.

The Chiefs decided to muddy the waters even further by acquiring Kadarius Toney from a trade with the New York Giants. Toney has missed significant time due to injury, but he was a first-round draft pick in 2021 and should grow into a role within the offense. With so many mouths to feed it’s hard to rely on anyone not named Travis Kelce for weekly fantasy production.

Hardman is averaging over 16 half-PPR fantasy points per game since Week 5. Kansas City's crowded offense doesn’t provide the volume to support his status as a weekly must-start, but he should consistently provide flex value with upside potential as a touchdown threat.
