Ryan Tannehill (QB, MIA) - Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: I really thought this year would be the year that Tannehill took a huge step forward for the Dolphins. He didn't seem to agree with me, at least not for the first 3 games. In standard leagues for the first 3 games he couldn't even reach 14 points. Then a funny thing happened.

The team traveled to England to face the Raiders and coach Joe Philbin suggested that Tannehill may not be the starter. This is when Tannehill presumably laughed in his coach's face because the Dolphins really don't have any options besides Tannehill, and he declared himself the starter. He went on to pass for 278 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception against the Raiders and quieted many of his critics. Then against Green Bay, a team he had no business doing well against, he passed for 244 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Both these games were 20+ point performances in standard fantasy formats.

Maybe Tannehill just needed someone to light the fire, but ever since coach Philbin called him out his passing yards per attempt have gone way up. He doesn't have the best matchup this week against Da Bears but he didn't have a great matchup either last week against the Pack. I'd feel comfortable streaming Tannehill depending on matchups, and I definitely would want to own him right now in all 2 QB leagues.
