Russell Gage (WR, ATL) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver (WR) Russell Gage is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 10 of the 2019 NFL season.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 0% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Feelings about Russell Gage after his first notable performance of the year were mixed, and the fact that that performance came in Week 8 and his ownership is still at zero is a good sign of that, as people didn't deem him worth rostering over Atlanta's bye week.

But now the Falcons are back on the field and Gage, who was targeted nine times in the first game after Atlanta dealt away Mohamed Sanu, is back in the waiver wire conversation.

Gage caught seven of those targets, finishing with 58 yards. He only had 63 receiving yards as a rookie last season, so there's never really been a moment where anyone has said "oh, Russell Gage, he's going to be part of things for the Falcons!"

But with Sanu gone and the Falcons sitting among the NFL's worst teams, there's a chance for Gage to make an on-field argument for a role with this team. Against Seattle, he played 57 percent of Atlanta's snaps after not taking more than 22 percent in any other game this year. He's moved up the pecking order on a team that passes a lot, so in deeper leagues it makes sense to stash him and see if that production can continue over the next couple of weeks.
