After the post-Ryder Cup hangover, the PGA Tour has resumed its fall run in Jackson, Mississippi, this week for the Sanderson Farms Championship. The big boys have mostly gone into hibernation now for the next few weeks to enjoy a much-deserved off-season. The folks this week are equally deserving, but find themselves in dire straits to keep their PGA Tour cards for next season.
Garrick Higgo holds a two-shot advantage heading into what should be an exciting round for die-hard golf fans. The Country Club of Jackson has been a predictable birdie fest. However, what has been less predictable is the fact that nothing really matters until players get it on the green. None of the strokes-gained metrics hold much weight in terms of the "right" strategy, but, with the top 10 players in strokes gained putting, it's easy to see that being relevant this week is next to impossible if the putts aren't falling.
Showdown, unlike typical golf DFS that spans the entire tournament, is a contest that focuses on each round as an individual event. Finding players performing well on approach is a good general rule. However, roster decisions that give you ownership leverage by taking riskier players who haven't played their best but present a high likelihood of a bounce-back round are also important. In other words, this is a sprint, not a marathon

Round 4 Strategy
The mindset for final-round showdowns is to leave no punches pulled. A great starting point is to take guys who have a knack for hammering down the gas pedal on Sunday and have at least shown flashes of form over the first three rounds.
Remember that ownership levels will continuously drop the closer you get to the morning's first tee time, so finding the guys who will bounce back is paramount to winning big.

Favorite Play: There aren't many events where no one in this range is inside the top 20 on the leaderboard. Nevertheless, Davis Thompson delivers interesting value, considering that many will opt out of reaching that high for a guy in T36.
He's gained +3.78 strokes on the greens over his last two rounds and ranks 13th on the week in strokes gained off the tee (+0.92). The approach play hasn't quite been there, but he'll have fewer elements to deal with than the guys later in the day. Look for a positive move up the leaderboard tomorrow.

Favorite Play: After a poor showing in his Ryder Cup debut, I didn't expect much from Rasmus Hojgaard this week. The fact that he was even making the trip was a surprise. Needless to say, his T11 position is much higher than would have been believed at the start of the week.
The 24-year-old has been solid on the greens this week, ranking 6th in strokes gained putting (+1.76). It also helps to be eighth in driving distance (305.2), despite not exactly reflecting the advantage in off-the-tee strokes gained metrics. In terms of world-class talent, this Hojgaard brother has as much as anyone else in the field. He's shown it through the first three rounds, so capping it off with another one to close should be expected.

Favorite Play: Eric Cole is surprisingly ranked 16th this week in driving distance (301.4). That's a far cry from the season-long rank of 128th. That is an important stat to a guy who can gain strokes in buckets with the putter in hand. The 37-year-old ranks fifth on the week in strokes gained putting (+1.81).
It's been difficult for him to find the same level of play he had during his rookie of the year campaign a couple of seasons ago; however, a solid finish tomorrow could jumpstart some momentum to begin building for 2026.

Favorite Play: From an all-around perspective, Matti Schmid is playing more consistently than most others on the leaderboard. The 27-year-old ranks fourth this week in strokes gained putting (+2.14) and is inside the top 25 in strokes gained on approach (+0.67) and driving distance (298.9). He is in a tie for 11th heading into Sunday and is working on gaining more playing privileges for 2026.

Favorite Play: After a slow start on Thursday and starting the event with an ugly 75, Doc Redman has been on fire in the two rounds since, posting back-to-back 65s and only making one bogey. His fifth ranking on the week in strokes gained on approach (+1.42) has bailed him out of questionable putting, but that part of his game has also been on the mend since losing -2.13 strokes in the opening round.
It's been a while since his name has graced a PGA Tour leaderboard as his presence this week is by way of Monday qualifying. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, look for the 27-year-old to keep his foot on the pedal tomorrow.
