Series Overview

The Golden State Warriors won the first game against the Toronto Raptors this season before dropping the final two. As was the case for the majority of the season, the Warriors weren't at full health in those final two games. With that being said, Golden State isn't currently at full strength. Still, they are Warriors are -275 favorites to win this series, while the Raptors are +225 underdogs.

Golden State Warriors

Kevin Durant has been ruled out for the first game, while DeMarcus Cousins is questionable. Stephen Curry is the only Warriors player with a usage rating north of 30%, and he's going to be locked into nearly 40 minutes in this game. He's the focal point of the offense, and there's no reason to avoid him. Klay Thompson is also expected to see 40+ minutes tonight, and his usage rating is sitting around 27%. He'll continue to be the second scoring option on the team behind Curry with Durant injured, and that won't change in Game 1. Draymond Green has finally caught fire, triple-doubling in each of his last two games, while featuring the potential to contribute in each of the five categories. He's the other player locked into nearly 40 minutes, and he will likely continue to dominate.

Andre Iguodala is in a bit of a category of his own. He's expected to play around 30 minutes, but he isn't a focal point of the offense. He has flashed tremendous upside for his price tag, but he's a bit of an afterthought, and will likely be used more for his defense than offense. Kevon Looney is also expected to see around 25 minutes, and he comes with solid upside, but very little consistency. He could lose a few minutes if Cousins is healthy enough to play, but I'd still expect him to play 20-25 minutes if that is the case.

Cousins will feature elite usage if he's on the court, but he isn't expected to play more than 15 minutes (at most). Alfonzo McKinnie is also expected to play minutes in the teens, and he doesn't make a great option. Jordan Bell, Jonas Jerebko, Quinn Cook, and Shaun Livingston could all see minutes, but none make elite options. With that being said, the Warriors feature the type of offense where anyone could potentially go off, and you will need to do something to separate yourself with only one game.

Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are expected to run a relatively short rotation. Kawhi Leonard is the leader of the team, posting a usage rating nearing 30%, while playing 40+ minutes. He took over in the Milwaukee series, and I'm expecting him to do the same in this series. Kyle Lowry is also expected to play minutes in the high-30s or low-40s, and he caught fire over his last three games. He has also dominated Golden State in his only two matchups this season, and Lowry is a bit too cheap at the moment. Pascal Siakam is the other player that is likely to play major minutes, but he makes a risky option. He's one of the "Big Three" that is best suited for tournaments.

Fred Vanvleet, Danny Green, and Marc Gasol are in the next tier. They are each expected to play minutes in the high-20s in this series. Gasol will feature the highest usage rating of the trio, and he makes a boom or bust option. He has performed extremely well against Golden State this season, though. VanVleet saw an uptick in minutes in the last series, and it wouldn't be overly shocking to see that happen again this series. With that being said, it's far from a given, and VanVleet comes with quite a bit of risk. Green is absurdly cheap, but he isn't a major part of the offense. He's relatively safe for cash because he'll see the court for a low price tag, but he doesn't come with the upside for tournaments.

Serge Ibaka and Norman Powell are both expected to see around 20 minutes. Both come with low price tags and tremendous upside. Powell is a bit safer of an option because of his lower price tag, but both can be considered as salary relief options.
