RotoBaller Expert Picks for Fanduel Football for Week 14

Each week here at RotoBaller, we provide the subscribers of our Expert Picks of the Week Service with some of the highest quality advice for salary cap fantasy football on Fanduel.

Are you one of those people whose fantasy football team is sporting a lackluster record through the first 13 weeks of the 2013 NFL season?  Have you already been eliminated in your leagues, or just about given up hope on this year because your key players have experienced flukey injuries or general underperformance?  Well, if you are a Julio Jones, David Wilson, Aaron Rodgers or Jay Cutler owner (just to mention a few injury disappointments), or just haven’t had the best luck so far this year, we have the perfect remedy for your fantasy football blues. The weekly format of Fanduel fantasy football is just what the doctor ordered at this time of the season when some owners’ squads are just not cutting it and they are all but out of contention in their seasonal league formats. Draft a new team each week, and battle it out against as many opponents as you please on Fanduel.

Looking for An Edge?

We’ve reprinted RotoBaller’s picks from last week’s subscribers-only exclusive newsletter in full to give you an idea of the depth of Fanduel analysis that we put forward each and every week.  If you play salary cap leagues on Fanduel, then our expert picks can give you the edge you need. As you can see below, our experts had some awesome recommendations for your Week 13 lineups so hopefully you got in on the action! And if not, no worries, there’s still plenty of time for Week 14 and beyond.

A Recap of Our Daily League Picks from Week 13

QB (Strong) - Carson Palmer, $7,300 - After the past 2 weeks of lighting up opponents for a total of 733 yards (on 79 pass attempts) and 4 touchdowns, Carson Palmer gets an extremely favorable matchup in Week 13 as he faces the Philadelphia Eagles.  Averaging 22.51 points over his past 2 contests, he comes into this game ready to face the worst ranked pass defense in the entire NFL.  The Eagles have given up over 3,300 yards to opposing quarterbacks and lead the league in giving up 300 passing yards per game. They have also given up a junky 17 touchdowns as well, so there is a very high probability for one of the Cardinals wide receivers to make it happen. Although the cold weather is of slight concern for the Arizona Cardinals, we can safely assume that their newly improved, high-volume, passing attack will once again be the featured weapon of choice as the Chip Kelly led Eagles will have a very tough time stopping Carson Palmer.

Result: 302 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptions - BULLSEYE

QB (Value) - Josh McCown, $6,100 - We are not going back to the well thisweek because Jay Cutler's fill-in put up 19.48 fantasy points last week, after we recommended that you use him in this exact newsletter, but because he is set to face the atrocious Minnesota Vikings in Week 13.  Giving up 24 passing touchdowns coming into this game (worst in the league), coupled with the 282 passing yards per game that they give up, have made the Vikings a very easy target for Fanduel players to pick on when looking for great value in their offensive players.  The Bears have very talented receivers, and a potent offense, leaving McCown with a lot of potential targets to do damage with.  He has also averaged 17.63 fantasy points per game over his past 3 full contests, so for the extremely cheap price tag he is being dangled in front of our faces forWeek 13, we recommend you pounce all over this like a hungry snake stalking a mouse crossing his path.

Result: 355 passing yards, 2 touchdowns - BULLSEYE

RB (Strong) - Shane Vereen, $6,200 - Attention all RotoBallers!  GET THIS MAN INTO YOUR LINEUP BY HOOK OR BY CROOK.  Going up against the awful Houston Texans on the road, Vereen has resumed his expected duties as the primary running back weapon for the pass-first Patriots offense. Vereen has yielded a 12.15 fantasy points per game average since he returned from an 11week absence due to injury.  Let's dig deep for a moment to see where all of this elation on our part stems from:  (A) Vereen is a PPR beast racking up 23 catches in last 3 full games, (B) He has 16 catches and 125 receiving yards in the past 2 weeks since returning, so you know the Patriots are still focused on using him heavily, (C) The Texans give up 4.2 yards per carry to opposing backs and have given up an average of 118.5 yards on the ground to opposing backs this season, (D) Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are both obsessed with our boy, so you should be also!

Result: 38 rushing yards, 5 receptions, 37 receiving yards, 1 touchdown - BULLSEYE

WR (Value) - Kendall Wright, $6,000 - Ok, so you know why this is happening right?  Did you listen to us last week when we begged you to get this undervalued stud possession receiver into your Fanduel lineup? We sure hope so because he went absolutely bonkers and probably made you some serious cheddar. Here we are heading into Week 13 and this guy is still priced so cheap that you'd think Black Friday was extended by a couple of days. Averaging 11.87 fantasy points per week over his past 10 contests, this young man has become the pinnacle of consistency for fantasy owners who are wise enough to keep going back to the well week after week. This game should be no different for Ryan Fitzpatrick's security blanket over the middle, as we expect the usual 8-10 targets for the PPR beast who is going up the league's worst yards per reception team (13.2 YPR) in Week 13.  Get Kendall Wright into your mix immediately if not sooner and keep the train moving towards the cash out station.

Result: 6 receptions, 77 yards - HIT

BONUS PICK - RB (Value) - C.J. Spiller, $5,700 - Although this has been a rather disappointing seasonal format fantasy year for the former 1st round draft pick, that does not mean that daily league players have not benefitted from some great pricing and strong matchup plays from the super speedy man in Buffalo. Claiming that he "feels good" heading into Week 13 makes us feel like he is ready for action, as the Bills get the rather easy task of facing the Falcons worst overall ranked defense in the league.  They are especially putrid at stopping the run as they have given up a stupendous 4.6 yards per carry and a crazy 130 yards per game to opposing running backs!  With those kinds of numbers, there is more than enough upside to go around for both Spiller and Jackson, but this is the kind of game that we think Spiller can break a big run (or two) and rack up some serious fantasy points. Considering he is priced cheaper than dirt, there is not too much risk in using him as a salary cap buster for Week 13, but there is potential for a big payoff.

Result: 149 rushing yards, 2 receptions, 8 receiving yards, 1 touchdown - BULLSEYE

DOUBLE BONUS PICK - RB (Strong) - Andre Brown, $7,100 – He is a little bit more expensive than our normal sleeper running back recommendations, but for a very fair price, we think you can make an exception to use Andre Brown as your #1 running back option for Week 13 of Fanduel action.  In his glorious return from yet another broken leg, the Giants main offensive weapon has averaged 15.66 fantasy points per game over his last 3 contests. Given the anemic nature of the Redskins defense (ranked 23rd overall), and the historic gashing of them that the Giants run game imposes, we are fairly confident that the Giants #1 running back is bound to go bonkers in Week 13 on the road.  If you want a very solid and steady running back option for your Fanduel lineup on Sunday, then this man is sure to give you exactly what you paid for.

Result: 35 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 23 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns - BULLSEYE
