RotoBaller Expert Picks for Fanduel Football for Week 13

RotoBaller looks back at our expert picks from week 12. Our high-quality advice for Fanduel fantasy football leagues can give you the edge you need to win.

Each week here at RotoBaller, we provide the subscribers of our Expert Picks of the Week Service with some of the highest quality advice for salary cap fantasy football on Fanduel.

Are you one of those people whose fantasy football team is sporting a lackluster record through the first 12 weeks of the 2013 NFL season?  Have you already been eliminated in your leagues, or just about given up hope on this year because your key players have experienced flukey injuries or general underperformance?  Well, if you are a Julio Jones, David Wilson, Aaron Rodgers or Jay Cutler owner (just to mention a few injury disappointments), or just haven’t had the best luck so far this year, we have the perfect remedy for your fantasy football blues. The weekly format of Fanduel fantasy football is just what the doctor ordered at this time of the season when some owners’ squads are just not cutting it and they are all but out of contention in their seasonal league formats. Draft a new team each week, and battle it out against as many opponents as you please on Fanduel.

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! This 12-team, Tight End Premium contest uses a 20-round draft format, with the overall winners determined by total points scored during Weeks 15–17. Looking for An Edge?

We've reprinted RotoBaller's picks from last week's subscribers-only exclusive newsletter in full to give you an idea of the depth of Fanduel analysis that we put forward each and every week.  If you play salary cap leagues on Fanduel, then our expert picks can give you the edge you need. As you can see below, our experts had some awesome recommendations for your Week 12 lineups so hopefully you got in on the action! And if not, no worries, there's still plenty of time for Week 13 and beyond.

A Recap of Our Daily League Picks from Week 12

QB (Value) - Josh McCown $5,500 - The most competent (and valuable) backup quarterback in the league in 2013 is positioned to make a huge impact in salary cap fantasy leagues this weekend as he prepares the Bears' very potent offense to face off against the mediocre St. Louis defense.  Although there he is lacking the upside to throw five touchdowns in any given week like Peyton or Brees, he is priced cheaper than a small cup of coffee from the newsstand at your local train station, so be prepared to pounce on this opportunity.  With Mr. McCown heading your fantasy lineup with a stable 12-15 fantasy points as his projected floor this week, we are sure you can use some of those extra dollars you'll be saving to get one of his favorite wide receivers (Brandon Marshall or Alshon Jeffery) into the mix.  We usually recommend these lower-priced quarterbacks for "tournament buster" rosters, but McCown is stable enough at this point to give you a consistent performance each week he starts for a very affordable price.

 Result: 352 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT - BULLSEYE

RB (Value) - Eddie Lacy $6,600 - Eddie "The Hammer" Lacy is in for a ton of work heading into his Week 12 matchup against the very beatable Minnesota Vikings defense.  Ranked second-to-last in the league behind only Atlanta, the Vikes have given up 11 rushing touchdowns thus far in the 2013 season, and they'll likely surrender another one in Week 12 based on a 90% probability that Lacy will pound one in on the ground on Sunday.  Averaging 14.06 points per game over his past three outings has left us fairly confident that he can still be a very productive back, despite the fact that opposing defenses will likely focus their attention more on the Packers' run game now that Aaron Rodgers is out for the foreseeable future.  Projected as the fourth-best running back option on the day behind only Jamaal Charles, AP and Matt Forte, but priced lower than 14 other backs, Lacy provides a great opportunity for return on investment this Sunday.

 Result: 158 Yards, 6 REC, 1 TD - BULLSEYE

BONUS PICK - WR (Value) - Cecil Shorts $5,300 - The value of a player is mostly based on his ability to return on investment for any given week, based on his price and matchup.  In this case, both factors are in play as Cecil Shorts has been bitching about not getting the ball enough and there are simply no other receiving options to speak of on that team.  He is also facing the Houston Texans' 26th-ranked defense, and although they have been rather stingy in the passing department, we are fairly confident that Shorts will rack up enough targets/receptions to make him worth the extremely marginal investment that it will take to make him your #3 wide receiver for Week 12 of Fanduel action.  Before the past two games, Shorts had not been below double digits in points in any week that he had played this year, so expect his reliability to resurface this weekend as he makes a few plays in Houston.

Result: 71 Yards, 8 REC - HIT

DOUBLE BONUS PICK - WR (Value) – Kendall Wright $5,400 – This is not the sexiest of choices for a wide receiver in week 12 that is bound to go bonkers, but Kendall Wright is very much a target monster with a deliciously tempting price tag. Averaging 7 targets and 11.62 fantasy points per game over his past 4 outings, this guy is one of the best sleeper wide receivers in fantasy football today. He gets the job done behind a very dull offensive scheme featuring backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and not too many other options to chuck the pigskin to.  Don’t be one of those people who questions this player recommendation just because Kendall Wright wasn’t on your wide receiver radar (you know who you are); just trust us and get him into your #3 wide receiver slot for your Fanduel lineup and thank us later.

Result: 103 Yards, 6 REC, 1 TD - BULLSEYE
