RIVAL Over/Under Picks – Monday, March 27, 2023

We didn’t do so hot last time around with a few of our bets and the common narratives rung true. O.G. Anunoby isn’t a consistent player by any means and we got burned because of it, despite a four-steal game, and the 76ers defense engulfed the Bulls offense quickly and quietly put them away. Nikola Jokic had a big game against the Wizards, but really who hasn’t? Then we get to Giannis Antetokounmpo who just dominated the Spurs like we thought could happen, there just wasn’t a ton of scoring support from his teammates because it simply wasn’t needed.

Kyrie Irving OVER 43.18 fantasy points

With Luka Doncic serving a one-game suspension and the Pacers surrendering the most points to opposing players over their last couple games, alongside a less-than-stellar supporting cast Kyrie Irving is primed for over bets. Even in his most recent game where he underperformed, he still took 16 shots with a +25% usage rate. Both of those numbers will see a major bump tonight.

Chris Paul OVER 33.65 fantasy points

According to BasketballMonster.com’s Ease Rankings, through these last couple weeks the Utah Jazz have one of the worst defenses. Their rim protection is fairly intimidating with Walker Kessler attacking whoever challenges him, but they struggle to contain quality playmakers and it’s hurting them from the outside-in. The Suns managed to win their last game against the 76ers thanks to their efficient three-point shooting and Phoenix needs to keep winning games this late into the season. Even though Chris Paul doesn’t regularly have good games where he would hit this over, when there is this much upside in terms of across the board scoring and assist potential, Paul should be at the forefront of the production.

Bobby Portis OVER 18.8 fantasy points

It’s tough to base anything off the Bucks last three games because all were blowouts, but Bobby Portis can double-double against any opponent and that’s all we need. In three games versus the Pistons this season, he posted enough raw stats to beat this projected without the extra boost playing in the fantasy realm gives you, with his worst performance still being a 10-point, nine rebound game back in November. He’s had a rough last two games and playing Detroit is always a good refresher.

Mitchell Robinson UNDER 23.04 fantasy points

We have to keep rolling with the under here as bad as Mitchell Robinson has been playing. It’s easy to see why he could hit the over because of his stature, but there are a ton of seven-footers who struggle to consistently produce for one reason or another. Taking the under on those centers having bad games or just fouling out has been profitable and Robinson hasn’t even come close to hitting this type of line since early March. It’s always possible, just like my potential to play in the NBA…
