RIVAL Over/Under Picks – Friday, March 10, 2023

It’s been a while since we’ve done a RIVAL article and our last grouping of picks scraped at their projected lines. The closer we get to the end of the regular season, the better understanding we have of which teams are still fighting for position and who is either fully tanking or accepting their seeding.

Nikola Jokic UNDER 56.68 fantasy points

Betting against the reigning and potential MVP will have drawbacks for obvious reasons, but the Nuggets shouldn’t need a career-game from Jokic to win tonight. With a healthy team, it would make more sense for Jokic to act as a decoy and post casual stats while players like Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon expose their matchups. The Spurs don’t fare well defensively against anyone, but that doesn’t automatically mean Jokic is going to have a massive night.

Damian Lillard OVER 48.25 fantasy points

Since the Trail Blazers need every bit of scoring Damian Lillard can offer, in competitive games his upside is at a maximum. He’s having the best season of his career and he’s continuing to build on a nightly basis. Portland might need more than just a couple baskets from Lillard to keep this game close, but when he’s playing this well with this much usage, you have to go with what has been a consistent for these last two months.

Donovan Mitchell OVER 38.24 fantasy points

Miami’s defense is always intimidating on paper because they limit opponents when it comes to overall stats and their roster makeup is very defense-heavy. The problem is, when they run into natural scorers or someone with Donovan Mitchell’s skill level, defense goes by the wayside and there’s not much anyone on their roster can do about it. With Bam Adebayo in the paint, both Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen are going to have their hands full, but it also forces Adebayo into a heavy workload for himself defending the Cavaliers attack. This should force Mitchell into a handful of isolation situations to make him tonight’s leading scorer.

Bam Adebayo UNDER 36.64 fantasy points

As previously stated, Adebayo is going to have his hands full dealing with Cleveland’s frontcourt and what stats he will be able to create for himself is up for grabs. He was unable to have a productive game Wednesday and the Heat lost by four points. Since he will need to find a way to be more impactful expect some increased production, but it’s hard to be productive when your top priority lies in playing sound defense and sacrificing stats.
