Your diligent efforts have been sustained throughout draft season and every matchup since Week 1.

Hopefully, you have been rewarded for your continued ability to navigate obstacles that have emerged during the season with teams that will advance into the fantasy postseason. This week’s challenges will include the final bye week, which will bring a welcome conclusion to that unwanted process. Four teams will be involved, resulting in the absence of backs from San Francisco, Carolina, New England, and the New York Giants.

That will require you to avoid including Christian McCaffrey, Rico Dowdle, Chuba Hubbard, TreVeyon Henderson, Devin Singletary, or Tyrone Tracy Jr. in your lineups. Prioritize These Running Backs On Most Waiver Wires

Kyle Monangai, Chicago Bears - 58% Rostered

Monangai’s availability currently remains above 40% in all leagues, although that percentage should decline this week. He has now secured a 49.4% snap share during his last two matchups, while accumulating 34 attempts (17 per game) and 178 rushing yards (89 per game).

That includes Monangai's numbers when Chicago traveled to Philadelphia in Week 13. He operated with a 45% snap share and led the Bears’ backfield in attempts (22) and rushing yards (130). Monangai also accrued five attempts inside the red zone and generated a rushing touchdown.

Monangai has now eclipsed 44.9% and 12+ carries during five of his last seven contests, while accumulating 26 carries inside the red zone, averaging 72.9 yards per game. He has also produced a touchdown during four consecutive matchups.

D'Andre Swift has registered a 48.8% snap share since Week 12, while accruing 26 carries (13.0 per game) and 140 rushing yards (70.0 per game). Ben Johnson should continue allocating touches to both backs, but Monangai’s ability to capitalize on his expanded role should preserve his viability as an RB2/RB3 option in your lineups.

Devin Neal, New Orleans Saints - 57% Rostered

Neal’s involvement in the Saints’ backfield rotation was limited to a 7.5% snap share and three touches from Weeks 1-7. However, Kendre Miller suffered a torn ACL in Week 7, which propelled Neal directly below Alvin Kamara on the New Orleans depth chart. Neal’s snap share rose to 40.3%, while he averaged 4.6 touches per game from Weeks 8-11.

Neal operated as the lead back for New Orleans when Kamara sustained an MCL sprain in Week 12. That propelled Neal to a season-best 73.8%  snap share. He also assembled 18 rushing yards, and secured season-highs in attempts (seven), routes run (38), targets (seven), and receiving yards (43).

Kamara’s continued absence also cleared the runway for Neal to operate as the Saints’ RB1 when New Orleans traveled to Miami in Week 13. Neal exceeded his previous season highs in snap share (81.9%), attempts (14), and rushing yards (47). He also ran 32 routes, while collecting all three of his targets.

Neal will function as the Saints' lead back if Kamara is unavailable during any of New Orleans’ upcoming contests, and Neal would become a viable RB3 for fantasy managers if that occurs. The Saints will face the Buccaneers, Panthers, Jets, and Titans in Weeks 14-17.

Chris Rodriguez Jr.., Washington Commanders - 24% Rostered

Rodriguez’s involvement within Washington’s backfield rotation has been altered on multiple occasions during the season, which has culminated in his current role as the Commanders’ lead rusher.

Rodriguez led the backfield in carries during his season debut in Week 3 (11) and generated a team-high 59 rushing yards in Week 4. He also secured a 36.5% snap share during that two-game sequence. That percentage dropped to 11.1% from Weeks 5-8, as did his per-game averages in attempts (2.3) and rushing yards (5.3).

However, Rodriguez has attained a 38.8% snap share since Week 9. He has also paced Washington's backfield in attempts (44/11.0 per game), rushing yards (201/50.3 per game), red zone attempts (11), and rushing touchdowns (three) during the Commanders’ last four matchups.

That includes Rodriguez’s usage and output when Washington hosted Denver in Week 13. Rodriguez secured a 41.1% snap share, carried 11 times, assembled 41 yards, and produced his fourth touchdown of the season. Jacory Croskey-Merritt played on a season-low 14.4 snap share in Week 13 and has now registered a 30.8% share since Week 9.

Rodriguez should retain his recent role as Washington’s primary rusher during the Commanders’ upcoming matchups against the Vikings, Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys.

Devin Singletary, New York Giants - 22% Rostered  

The season-ending ankle injury that was sustained by Cam Skattebo in Week 8 resulted in an ongoing rotation between Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr.. Both backs also shared touches during the Giants’ Week 13 matchup with New England, until Tracy sustained a hip injury.

Singletary will operate with a sizable workload if Tracy is sidelined after the Giants return from their bye. That has elevated Singletary among this week’s Tier 1 options from the waiver wire.

Singletary operated with a 47% snap share in Week 13. He also carried 12 times, assembled a season high of 68 rushing yards, and generated a 22-yard touchdown. Singletary also ran 10 routes, captured all three of his targets, and produced 34 yards as a receiving weapon.

Tracy attained a 51% snap share in Week 13, while accumulating 10 attempts and 36 rushing yards. He also ran 11 routes, collected his only target, and registered -3 receiving yards.

Tracy’s status should be monitored, but Singletary has emerged as a back to pursue from this week’s waiver wire. Singletary would secure a sizable workload while functioning as New York’s RB1, if Tracy is sidelined for the Giants’ upcoming matchups with Washington, Minnesota, and Las Vegas in Weeks 15-17.

Secondary Options - Week 14 Waiver Wire Running Backs

These Running Backs Could Become Assets For Your Rosters

Samaje Perine, Cincinnati Bengals - 3% Rostered

Chase Brown will continue to operate as the Bengals’ primary back. However, Perine is also entrenched in his role as the direct backup to Brown.

This has elevated Perine among this week’s viable handcuff options, as he is positioned to secure RB1 duties for the Bengals if Brown is forced to the sideline. Cincinnati will travel to Buffalo in Week 14 before facing Baltimore, Miami, and Arizona in Weeks 15-17.

Keaton Mitchell, Baltimore Ravens - 3% Rostered  

The statistical eruption that Mitchell delivered upon his arrival at the NFL level immediately launched him onto the fantasy landscape during his 2023 rookie season.

That included Mitchell’s league-best average of 8.4 yards per attempt and his league-high seven runs of 20+ yards during a six-game sequence (Weeks 9-15) before he sustained a torn ACL.

However, he is now operating as the backup rusher behind Derrick Henry in Baltimore’s backfield rotation, which positions him to emerge as a critical resource for fantasy managers if Henry is forced to the sideline.

Mitchell has now operated with a 15.6% snap share since Week 8. He has also accumulated 22 attempts (3.7 per game), generated 145 rushing yards (24.2 per game), and averaged 6.6 yards per attempt.

Mitchell has also averaged at least 5.0 yards per attempt during five of his six matchups, and has generated four explosive runs according to PFF. The Ravens host the Steelers on Sunday, followed by matchups with the Bengals, Patriots, and Packers from Weeks 15-17.

Mitchell does not have standalone value, but could emerge as a highly productive resource during any of those contests if Henry is unavailable.

Jaleel McLaughlin, Denver Broncos - 3% Rostered 

R.J. Harvey should continue to operate as Denver’s lead back in the aftermath of J.K. Dobbins’ foot injury in Week 10. However, Sean Payton should also distribute a weekly allotment of touches to McLaughlin in the Broncos’ restructured rotation.

McLaughlin has registered a 15.9% snap share since Week 11. He has also carried 12 times (6.0 per game), assembled 43 rushing yards (21.5 per game), and generated a rushing touchdown. McLaughlin has also run seven routes, while capturing both of his targets from Bo Nix.

That includes McLaughlin’s numbers in Week 13 when he operated with an 18.6% snap share, while accumulating six attempts and 24 rushing yards. He also ran five routes and secured his only target from Nix.

Harvey led Denver’s backfield in snap share  (47.1%), attempts (13), and rushing yards (35) in Week 13. He also ran 14 routes, collected three of his four targets, and assembled 27 receiving yards.

Harvey’s involvement will not prevent McLaughlin from securing a role that sustains his viability as a flex option if you are constructing lineups in deeper leagues. The Broncos will travel to Las Vegas in Week 14 before facing Green Bay, Jacksonville, and Kansas City in Weeks 15-17.

Malik Davis, Dallas Cowboys - 0% Rostered 

Davis was stationed far outside the fantasy landscape at the onset of the 2025 regular season and did not register his first offensive snap of the season until Week 7.

However, he has consistently operated as the RB2 for the Cowboys since Week 11, within a Dallas backfield that currently does not contain any candidates to usurp his role.

Jaydon Blue attained a 17.6% snap share from Weeks 5-8. However, Blue’s repeated relegation to healthy inactive status since Week 9 has created an uncontested pathway for Davis to launch directly below Javonte Williams on the Cowboys’ reshaped depth chart.

Davis has attained a 16% snap share since Week 11, while accumulating 10 carries, 91 rushing yards, and 47 yards after contact. He also infuses a level of explosiveness into the Dallas backfield, which was on display during his 47-yard touchdown in Week 13.

Davis is currently positioned to elevate into a favorable workload if Williams is unable to operate as the primary back during any of the Cowboys’ remaining contests. Dallas will visit the Lions in Week 14, followed by matchups with the Vikings, Chargers, and Commanders in Weeks 15-17.

High Upside Handcuffs - Week 14 Waiver Wire Running Backs

These Running Backs Are Insurance Policies That Protect You From A Roster Crisis

Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons - 42% Rostered  

Allgeier has maintained an unwavering presence among the recommended handcuff options throughout the season due to his status as the ultimate insurance policy.

Allgeier remains stationed directly below Bijan Robinson on Atlanta’s depth chart. This preserves his prospects of operating as the Falcons’ primary back if Robinson is forced to the sideline.

Allgeier will also deliver RB1 production of the scenario develops, which should provide sufficient incentive to prioritize him from your waiver wire. Allgeier has also registered a 28.4% snap share while operating in his current role as Atlanta’s RB2.

The inconsistency in Allgeier’s touch totals has also led to disparities in his production during the season. Allgeier has accumulated 10+ carries in six different matchups that have been interspersed with five games in which he has failed to reach five attempts.

Allgeier has also accumulated 25 attempts inside the red zone, after accruing three during the Falcons’ Week 13 matchup with the Jets. Allgeier also generated his eighth touchdown of the season during the contest.

However, the primary enticement for adding Allgeier remains his ability to become a highly productive resource if he secures lead-back duties during any absence by Robinson.

The Falcons host the Seahawks in Week 14, before facing the Buccaneers, Cardinals, and Rams in Weeks 15-17.

Kenneth Gainwell, Pittsburgh Steelers - 61% Rostered

Gainwell has remained unchallenged for his role as Pittsburgh’s RB2 throughout the regular season, and his viability as a handcuff should not be altered during the Steelers’ remaining matchups.

That provides the rationale for including Gainwell among this week’s recommendations, even though his availability is just below 40%.

Gainwell has operated with a 46.3% snap share since Week 1, while accumulating 356 rushing yards (29.7 per game) with his 76 attempts (6.3 per game). He also leads the Steelers' backfield in routes run (202), targets (51), and receiving yards (259).

Gainwell also secured a 41.9% snap share, carried five times, and assembled 20 rushing yards in Week 13. He also ran 11 routes, was targeted three times, and generated 25 yards as a pass catcher.

Gainwell has also performed proficiently when he has been elevated into a temporary RB1 role. That transpired in Weeks 4 and 11 due to injuries that Jaylen Warren sustained, and Gainwell responded by accumulating 239 total yards and four touchdowns during those contests.

He remains capable of thriving once again if he ascends into extensive workloads during any of Pittsburgh‘s remaining matchups. The Steelers will visit Baltimore on Sunday, before facing Miami, Detroit, and Cleveland in Weeks 15-17.

Brian Robinson Jr., San Francisco 49ers - 25% Rostered

Robinson remains cemented as an effective insurance policy for anyone who has invested in Christian McCaffrey, due to his unchallenged role as San Francisco’s RB2.

Robinson’s placement below McCaffrey on the 49ers’ depth chart preserves his potential to vault into a massive workload in Kyle Shanahan’s attack if McCaffrey is unable to function in his normal role as San Francisco’s workhorse back (82.9% snap share/24.7 touches per game).

Robinson enters Week 14 with a 17.4% snap share. He has also accumulated 328 rushing yards (25.2 per game) with his 72 attempts (5.5 per game). Robinson has also operated with a 22.0% snap share since Week 10, while accruing 31 carries (7.8 per game) and assembling 131 yards (35 per game).

Seven of Robinson’s 10 carries inside the red zone have been generated during his last five matchups, as have both of his rushing touchdowns.

However, the incentive for prioritizing Robinson on your waiver wire surrounds his prospects of emerging as a critical asset if McCaffrey is forced to the sideline.

Robinson would also approach RB1 output if the scenario transpires during San Francisco’s upcoming contests. The 49ers will return from their bye in Week 15 for matchups with the Titans, Colts, and Bears.

Emanuel Wilson, Green Bay Packers - 49% Rostered

Wilson’s availability has reached 51% which has launched his reappearance among the essential handcuffs that should be pursued on this week’s waiver wire.

Wilson ran effectively while Jacobs was sidelined by a knee injury in Week 12, as the third-year back operated with a 56.1% snap share, while easily surpassing his previous career highs in attempts (28) and rushing yards (107).

Wilson also generated multiple touchdowns for the first time in his career, while rising to second among all backs in yards after contact (91), and tying for fourth in red zone attempts (five).

Some fantasy managers dropped Wilson after Jacobs resurfaced to function as Green Bay’s primary back during the Packers’ Thanksgiving Day matchup in Detroit.

However, it can be beneficial to add Wilson after he has demonstrated the ability to perform proficiently when he is operating as Green Bay’s temporary lead back.

Jacobs led the Packers’ backfield in snap share (55%), attempts (17), and rushing yards (83) in Week 13. Wilson secured an 18.3% snap share four days after his extensive workload in Week 12.

Wilson is firmly positioned to seize an expanded workload if Jacobs is unavailable for any of Green Bay’s upcoming matchups with the Bears (twice), Broncos, and Ravens from Weeks 14-17.

Ollie Gordon II, Miami Dolphins - 9% Rostered

Gordon seized RB2 duties for Miami before the Dolphins’ season opener, and his role has remained largely unchanged throughout his rookie season.

Gordon has attained a 24.4% snap share since Week 1, while also averaging 4.4 carries/14.5 rushing yards per game. An ankle injury temporarily curtailed Gordon’s usage in Weeks 9 and 10 (13.7% snap share/1.5 attempts/1.5 yards per game).

However, Gordon secured a season-high 39.3% share in Week 11, while he also carried nine times and assembled 45 yards on the ground. He also accumulated a season-high six attempts inside the red zone during that contest.

Gordon has also accrued 16 red zone carries since Week 1, along with 10 attempts inside the 10-yard line. He has also accumulated seven forced missed tackles and four explosive runs since Week 1, according to PFF.

Gordon’s role as the direct backup to De'Von Achane preserves the potential for Gordon to ascend into a sizable workload during any absence by Achane. That justifies securing Gordon if you participate in deeper leagues.

Miami is on the road for matchups with the Jets and Steelers in Weeks 14 and 15 before returning home to face the Bengals and Buccaneers in Weeks 16 and 17.
