Projecting Rest of Season Top 10 Infielders in 2024 Fantasy Baseball (Week 16)

Jose Ramirez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Thunder Dan Palyo projects which ten infielders will finish the season in the top 10 for the 2024 fantasy baseball season.

The league has not seen such talent in middle infield as we have in 2024 in a long time!

Bobby Witt Jr., Gunnar Henderson, and Elly De La Cruz are all young players who are posting some massive stats, while Jose Ramirez, Rafael Devers, and Bryce Harper are reliable veterans who are doing what they've done for years.

With the All-Star break approaching, let's examine which infielders who are off to great starts have the staying power needed to turn in a top-10 season by the season's end and which might drop out over the next two months.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Current Top 10 Infielders for Fantasy Baseball

Here are the top 10 most valuable outfielders in 5x5 roto leagues right now according to Yahoo's player rankings.

Hitter R HR RBI SB AVG
Bobby Witt Jr. 75 16 63 22 0.327
Gunnar Henderson 77 27 61 14 0.288
Jose Ramirez 70 23 77 18 0.272
Elly De La Cruz 62 15 40 46 0.255
Rafael Devers 58 21 58 2 0.289
Bryce Harper 53 20 58 4 0.3
Jose Altuve 56 14 44 14 0.305
Christian Walker 58 22 66 2 0.262
Ketel Marte 62 18 52 5 0.285
Freddie Freeman 56 14 59 4 0.294

There's a pretty sizable gap between the big three of Witt Jr., Hendo, and J-Ram and the fourth-rated De La Cruz, who relies on his stolen bases to maintain his elite value.

Devers and Harper have nearly identical stats and proven track records to keep it going for a full season.

Jose Altuve is the Energizer Bunny of fantasy baseball, he just keeps going and doesn't skip a beat.

Marte and Walker, both Diamondbacks, are enjoying solid seasons for Arizona which is why I found it interesting that Walker was being rumored to be on the trade block. Will Arizona really sell at the deadline only one year removed from the World Series?

And Freddie Freeman brings up the rear, which is comical that a "down year" for Freeman still consists of hitting close to .300 and on pace for 25 HR and 100 RBI.

Projected Top 10 Infielders for Fantasy Baseball

Taking into account the rest of the season projections from ATC and others (plus my own opinion), here's how I see the final top ten infielder rankings shaking out by the end of this season.

  1. Bobby Witt Jr.
  2. Gunnar Henderson
  3. Jose Ramirez
  4. Elly De La Cruz
  5. Bryce Harper
  6. Freddie Freeman
  7. Rafael Devers
  8. Jose Altuve
  9. Francisco Lindor
  10. Ketel Marte

Yes, if I have to pick someone to fall out of the top group it's Christian Walker. He's never pulled off a 40 home run season before, topping out at 36 in 2022 and he's not stealing bases this year (2) making his 11 from last season look a little fluky.

There are a few really good middle infielders in Francisco Lindor and CJ Abrams who are nipping at the heels of the top ten currently and Lindor certainly can get there, especially now that he's leading off for the Mets. Abrams is having a fantastic season but might be another year away.

Others who are likely to finish as also-rans (close but no cigar) are William Conteras (who has slowed down quite a bit after an incredible start) and Josh Naylor (22 HR, 70 RBI, but hitting just .245).
