Preston Williams (WR, MIA) - Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 3% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins wide receiver Preston Williams has been heavily featured in the team's offense the past two weeks. In Week 2 against the Patriots, he had six targets and wound up with four catches for 63 yards. In Week 3 against the Cowboys, he led the Dolphins with a whopping 12 targets and had four catches for 68 yards. The catch conversion rate this past week obviously wasn't ideal (33.3%), but there's a clear intention to give Williams opportunities in the passing game and that could equate to some solid fantasy production going forward.

The 6'5" Williams signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie free agent this offseason and his rise up the Dolphins' depth chart has been rapid. His main competition right now is Devante Parker, who has been anything but reliable since debuting with the Dolphins in 2015. Parker has caught just three of his 13 targets the past two weeks. The team also has Jakeem Grant as a sort of gadget player as well as the injured Albert Wilson. Needless to say, the competition isn't fierce.

With Williams' stellar 14.1 yards per reception average, he's looking like the Dolphins' best playmaker at receiver at this point. Williams is a worthy add in deep leagues of 14 or more teams for anyone in need of a wide receiver. He could be a solid season-long addition as the Dolphins will surely be playing a lot of catch-up and throwing the ball a lot this season.
