DFS Cheat Sheet

Game of the Day

San Antonio Spurs vs Atlanta Hawks

The San Antonio Spurs have been pushing the pace in their games, while the Atlanta Hawks have been slowing their games down a bit. It's a bit shocking, but this game features the highest Vegas total on the slate at 220.5 points.

DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge are the two major focal points of the offense. They will each see 30+ minutes tonight, and they boast 27.4% and 22.7% usage ratings on the season, respectively. Bryn Forbes is a cheaper option, who will likely see minutes in the high-20s. He has been consistent, although he lacks upside from his 19.1% usage rating. Dejounte Murray has been an elite option this season, averaging 1.6 DK points per minute. His minutes are capped around 25, but he makes an elite tournament option. Derrick White plays behind him, and can be considered for a reasonable price tag, but is far from a great option on this slate.

Trey Lyles has been outlined in the Cheat Sheet. Patty Mills and Rudy Gay are two more players that are likely to find minutes in this game. They both come with tremendous upside, but terrible risk. Neither make elite options tonight, but they can be used as low owned GPP darts. Jakob Poeltl and Marco Belinelli will also find minutes, but neither make solid options on this slate.

Trae Young has been announced as healthy for this game. He should continue to see a usage rating north of 30%, especially with John Collins suspended. Collins' minutes and usage will likely be split by a few players. Jabari Parker, Kevin Huerter, De'Andre Hunter, DeAndre' Bembry, and Cam Reddish (in order of preference) are all expected to play 25-30 minutes tonight. They can each be considered.

Alex Len, Bruno Fernando, and Damian Jones are all splitting minutes at center, limiting each players upside. Vince Carter is also expected to get on the court, but he shouldn't be considered on this slate.

Fade of the Day

Nikola Jokic

Jokic simply hasn't been overly dominant this season. He's averaging 15.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.2 steals (42 DK points) in 30.4 minutes per game. He has also scored fewer than 36 DK points in 3 of his last 4 contests. On the season, he has only hit value once at his current price tag, scoring 66.5 DK points against the Phoenix Suns. Excluding that game, Jokic is averaging only 37.2 DK points per game.

He gets a tough matchup against the Miami Heat, who have a defensive-minded Bam Adebayo starting at center. He has been enjoying a breakout season, and Miami currently ranks first in the NBA against opposing centers. There are better options at this position, and Jokic can be avoided for the time being.
