DFS Cheat Sheet

Injury note* Jaren Jackson Jr. has been ruled OUT.  This should be a big bump for Brandon Clarke who is viable in all formats tonight.

Game of the Day

New Orleans Pelicans at Brooklyn Nets

If there is a game that has the potential to hit the 317 total from that Houston and Washington got to the other day, this game feels like it may be it. New Orleans is sixth in pace while the Nets are right behind in seventh.  Furthermore, the Pelicans are 28th in defensive rating, while the Nets are only marginally better at 21st.

The Pelicans have been a mash unit this year with Zion Williamson yet to play, Jrue Holiday missing a few games, Derrick Favors missing the last few and most recently Brandon Ingram leaving the game Sunday afternoon. Holiday should be good but it will be key to note the status of Ingram and Favors heading into this game.  **Injury updates: Ingram is listed as Probable tonight, which limits Hart's upside a touch.  Derrick Favors is listed as questionable.**

Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday and Josh Hart should all be players who you can trust in this game regardless of the injury situation. Hart is the cheapest, but might have the best fantasy value floor due to his all-around game. He is coming of fa 15 rebound game and actually leads the team at 7.7 boards per game. Although Holiday and Ball have modest usage rates of 20.9% and 17.4% respectively, both should be locked into 32+ minutes against a bad defense.

Up front, if Favors misses this game you can lock in Jahlil Okafor who had a big double-double on Saturday and should be in line for more time here. Do not let the fact that the Nets are number one in rebounds per game scare you, this has a lot to do with them playing a true center at all times, something that will help Okafor. The Nets are also 27th in the league in two-pointers allowed this year, which should open up things for Kenrich Williams and Jaxson Hayes if you want a few cheap tournament flyers.

On the Brooklyn side, the team may be 2-4, but that has more to do with their defense as they are third in the league at 118.8 points per contest. Kyrie Irving has been his normal self in his first year with a massive 34.1% usage rate. Ball did rank seventh among point guards in DRPM last year, but Irving is simply match-up proof.

After Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris Levert as next on the team with 29.0% and 27.5% usage rates. It is tough to play Dinwiddie in a stack with Irving, but if you think Irving struggles, Dinwiddie would be an excellent pivot in an equally appealing match-up.

It is also worth noting that the Nets have three players (Irving, Prince, and Harris) making 3.3 three’s or more per game, and the Nets are giving up 12.8 per game from deep.  This could give all three of those players huge upside, especially on Draftkings.

Up front, the duo of Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan split time which makes both a shot in the dark each game. The Pelicans allow 5.0 blocks per game, so maybe Allen would be the play on FanDuel with Jordan being better on DK.

Overall, if you had upwards of four to six players from this game in any one build that would not feel out of line, especially if Ingram and/or Favors were to sit out.

Fade of the Day

Jeff Teague

Coming off of his best game of the year, Jeff Teague figures to be a popular option with Towns serving the second of his two game suspension. The issue with Teague is that last game he faced off against a Wizards team that is in the bottom five in nearly every defensive category. Tonight, Teague will face a Bucks team that is 11th in defensive rating and gives up 10 less points a game than do the Wizards.

Prior to last game, Teague had no posted a game over eight assists and has only scored over 15 points one time. In a game that also figures to be far slower in pace, Teague is not likely to pay off his recently bumped salary.
