Zane Gonzalez 2020 Outlook: Potential Breakout Candidate
5 years agoArizona Cardinals kicker Zane Gonzalez may be a breakout candidate for the 2020 season. Gonzalez enters his fourth season in the league and is coming off a top-five finish at the position in 2019. He did this with an 88.6% field goal completion percentage while only missing one extra point. This type of consistency is necessary to be a successful NFL kicker, and permit a positive return relative to his ADP. Another critical factor for Gonzalez is that the Cardinals might be the best team for a kicker. This is not because everyone is hyping the revamped offense, but because the Cardinals finished last season with a 45.28% touchdown success rate in the red zone (29th in the league). A high-powered offense, plus the inability to capitalize in the red zone, equals the perfect stage for a breakout kicker.
