7/10:New Philadelphia Phillies closer Victor Arano had a rollercoaster day on Monday as his club played the New York Mets in a doubleheader. The 23-year-old came on in the 10th inning of the club’s opening game with the score tied at three. His outing would be a short one, as five pitches into his inning, he surrendered a walk-off home run. In a positive sign for prospective fantasy onlookers, however, manager Gabe Kapler wasted no time proving his faith in the youngster. With the Phillies up by two in the second game of the day, Arano would come on with a two-run lead. Tossing just five pitches once again, he capped off his day with a save, his third of the season. Monday’s performances should do nothing to hurt his status in the bullpen depth chart, so expect to continue seeing him in key situations.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
