Trey Wingenter Sticking With Tigers
12 months agoRelief pitcher Trey Wingenter signed a minor-league deal to stay with the Detroit Tigers. The deal has an invitation to Spring Training. Wingenter has a career 3.82 FIP. His 5.28 ERA over 90 games isn't as promising as his FIP, but his 121 strikeouts in 87 innings show his potential. The 29-year-old doesn't hold any fantasy relevance currently, but if he can harness some of his stuff, he could make his way to high-leverage situations in Detroit. Wingenter produced a 102 Stuff+ last season. His slider game in at 112, indicating he has at least one above-average major league pitch to work with. That could help him in his bid for a roster spot this spring.
