Trevor Bauer Reinstated On Thursday
2 years agoAn arbitrator upheld an unpaid 194-game suspension for Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Trevor Bauer on Thursday and reinstated him, effectively immediately, with his loss of pay covering the 144 games he was suspended for during the 2022 season. In addition, the arbitrator docked Bauer's salary for the first 50 games of the 2023 campaign. The 31-year-old's suspension was reduced from 324 games to 194 after violating the league's domestic-abuse policy. While he's now eligible to play in 2023, the Dodgers are fully expected to move on from him, and it remains to be seen if any other team will give the former Cy Young winner another shot after what he's done. Bauer hasn't pitched since June of 2021, when he had a 2.59 ERA (4.03 FIP), a 1.00 WHIP and 137 strikeouts in 107 2/3 innings over 17 starts for the Blue.
